one day recipe

At one stage my job involved being at TV AM once a week for the morning broadcast.

After the morning show they had a full fry up in the canteen.

As a guest I ate free, moreover anyine who ate with was classed as "hosting" so everyone from Anne Diamond to Timmy Mallet to the tech crew joined me for full breakfast. Afterwards "Milton" (Richard) Keyes asked what I thought of the meal. I told him it was OK but a true fry up should include Black Pudding. This was passed to the Chef and from then on Black Pudding was included whenever I was there.

I worked for a company that supplied the office furniture to Dalziel and Pascoe (detective series). We had to assemble the furniture and place it according to plan. We did "meet" a few of the performers (I hesitate to use the word "stars") and funnily enough, the only one I really remember is the delightful Jennifer James. The reason I remember her? Well, not only was she a looker, she was polite and funny too. On site was a double decker bus where the downstairs was kitchen and a hatch, the upstairs was seating. I got my breakfast (almost the same as @Robmac put on his "menu"! I went upstairs and the only place left to sit was with Jennifer and another actress. She actually motioned me to sit!

We had a good old chat about the program, which I had never seen and this was the third series, and she asked what I did. I told her that I was installing the office set and she seemed interested. Great 40 minutes, until she was called for makeup. So Robmacs' menu is one of the two memories I have of that two day stint in the world of the "dahlings".

I supplied the American RV that Warren Clarke used as a ‘green room’ on that series. Small world.

Breakfast for me has to be ludicrously simple. It normally consists of multiple three in one coffee sachets and either long life, individually wrapped pain au chocolate, or cobs pre-made & wrapped in clingfilm at home by me, and containing; Cream cheese, finely chopped jalapeños, bacon, fresh chopped coriander & sweet chilli sauce. Lunch is often a cheat in the RidgeMonkey - Findus Crispy pancakes work well, particularly when accompanied by the first beer of the day.
Evening meal is often cooked over the Cobb BBQ and is frequently something that I prepare at home, ready to grill. Bernard's KFC-alike is a good one; Chicken thighs in cornflour, garlic granules, cayenne pepper, sweet paprika & celery salt chucked on the rack for 20 minutes or so and served with coleslaw, posh crisps and an excessive quantity of a fine amber ale.

Ridge Monkey and a Cobb BBQ - I have the same. Made at home Cottage/Shepherds pie works great in the Cobb and spicy Chicken wings are easy peasy.

Sir, I like the cut of your Jib!

I am not a foodie, and this shows when I travel as I shed any padding that was gained over the winter.

  • Method: Crack eggs into the pan, add veggies, stir and cook until set.

Lunch

Pan Toasted Sandwich

  • Method: Assemble sandwich, toast in the same pan on low heat until golden.

Dinner

One-Pot Pasta
  • Ingredients: Pasta, canned tomatoes, garlic, frozen spinach, shredded cheese.
  • Method: Put pasta and tomatoes in the pan, add water to cover, cook until pasta soft. Stir in spinach and cheese at the end.

Snack

  • Use the pan to lightly toast nuts or make a quick fruit sauté with a little butter.
If I put my nuts in a hot pan, I'd need a trip to A&E plus a large ice pack ... :ROFLMAO:
