We have not claimed for any accident for many years although we do a high mileage. Our little camper is our only vehicle that is problem No. 1, but the bigger problem is that for several years we have been with Adrian flux brokers, but with different insurers, Red star and Ageas, both of whom do not issue no claims bonus forms. If they did we would have over 10 years no claims. Last year with Ageas we were pleased to get insurance for 365 day Eu cover £244 plus a 100 pound fee and 150 pounds for European 120 day breakdown insurance. That is less than £500 all in. I just received the renewal like for like quote of £879.80 all due the car insurance increase. A conspiracy theorist would suggest that taking insurance without a continuing no claims certificate is a trap that I have fallen into.
We are members of the C&MH club and get our house insurance that way. I phoned them and answered questions as you do. The agent said they could not offer a quote as 2 of their insurers would not work with no no claims certificate. That is the annoying issue as we should qualify.
One would not quote as we do not have a 2nd vehicle, although I am a named driver on my sons car but that is usually 5 miles away although he is staying with us at the moment, so apparently does not count.
I am going to try AIB next but beyond that I seem trapped.
