New Tryes pt 2

Hey guys,
I’ve always had Michelin Aguillas Tyers on every single Motorhome &/or Van conversion I’ve ever done going back as far as my Zombie brain can remember. If the vehicle hasn’t got them when I bought it, Then it’s very high on my ‘ToDo’ list to rectify & have had No problems at all over the years as a Full time Livaboard that constantly asks a lot of my vehicles over different terrains Year around. So Full marks to Michelin Agilus from me 😊.

HOWEVER (🤣🤣🤣🤣).
I’ve now got my FIRST EVER single rear wheel axle vehicle (ie 4 Tyers in all). The past vehicles being Double rear wheel Tag Axles ie 6 Tyers in all).
Sooo
As ‘Mo’ has a fat arse coming in at around the 4000kg mark on the 4 tyres In my mind LOAD ratings have as much importance as All year round performance.
So I’ve gone for
Continental Tyers this time on 235/65/16 giving me a far greater max Load rating than the Aguilus Tyers of 121.
I have High pressure valves fitted run the tyres at 72psi on Front & 78psi on rear. That roughly gives me a load rating on the Front axle of 2300kg & the Rear axle of 2800kg ish on my 4000kg vehicle.
Had them on for a year or so now and are very happy 😊👍.

Camper tyres are designed for incompetent drivers but are sold to people who will pay more for an inferior product without questioning why they should. Doesn't make them incompetent.

I don't use Camper tyres, and doubt I ever will, but I'm up for seeing some evidence they are inferior.
If I had to, I suppose I could make the argument that I don't consider they are worth the extra money, but inferior? I'm all ears.

You should have learnt by now that generalising makes you seem silly at times. The ONLY tyres I can fit on my van that meet th rear axle loading are Continentals and only two choices from them

Heavier construction of the sidewalls means a harsher, noisier ride and less ability to dissipate heat, so they need to run at higher pressure, which gives an even harsher, noisier ride.
Mine run at slightly over 4 bar as advised for the load by Continental, what do you run yours at and weight?

Is this not the point of more robust sidewall design, to take the extra downward weight and pressure exerted by a motorhome? My 4+ ton MH runs on Michelin Agilis, a recommended tyre by Niesmann + Bischoff, what tyre would you recommend, Geek?

How is heat dissipation measured between various spec of tyres by the various manufacturers ?

Edit: my MH tyres are pumped up to 5.5 bar.

I ordered 4 mitchelin Agiles tyres today fitting tomorrow. The four rear on tag axle replacing due to age and some small cracks on the walls nearly 8 years old and 44k plenty tread left on them. so got my money’s worth out them. I’m putting same as the ones van had from new as I’ve never had a problem with them and that’s what manufacture fitted. £210 each fitted. Why try and save a ten or twenty quid when you know they do the job perfectly.

Mark That’s what I think I meant 😂 I just told him same as what’s on it. Think he said something about CP I think that means camping.
