Ah great…. “I am not trying to knock Renogy products and have nothing against them blah blah……..yet still not answering my repeated question…..what personal experience can you rely upon to evidence doubt about Renogy products “back up reputation?
Agreed, you did take the conversation way off thread and we need to return to it immediately in my view
It’s quaintly comforting that our resident ‘expert’ is able to review ‘mediocre’ products blindly though.
Sorry, just an opinion
Hmm, the 'resident expert' ISN'T reviewing anything blindly is he? Has he left a review or has he simply stated that he personally wouldn't supply it on a professional level because he feels the guarantee and aftercare would not be equivalent to that of another product (
Victron).
Now, you ask for if he has hard evidence of this inferiority, which I get, but personally I also understand where Wildbus is coming from.
Before retiring I was self employed and supplying and installing equipment and like anyone (or at least anyone who wants a decent business reputation) you quickly learn that your reputation hangs an the stuff you supply. If you have parts that you've supplied fail then you look incompetent for supplying them in the first place and the time/expense taken in sorting out the issue also eats into your profit or worse can take away any profit you made.
I myself have a Renogy B2B, the first one I purchased had an issue (from new) in that it didn't drop to float voltage and sat at its absorption voltage for what appeared to be indefinitely (it was supposed to drop back after between 1,and 2 hours. I reported the fault and after a bit of a quibble got it replaced. The replacement was also faulty, it's voltage dropped back to float too quickly after just a couple of mins. I've still got the 2nd unit to installed, I couldn't be bothered chasing a 2nd replacement because my carbon batteries meant the new fault wouldn't be a big issue. The fact that I received 2 brand new devices with 2 different issues indicates poor QC on Renogy 's part and shows the 'you get what you pays for' view that many folks have BUT is something I'm prepared to accept to save a few quid.
Are Wildbus's posts Ablemarl/
Victron centric? Yes, and for reasons stated above.
Is this fair? Personally I think so, after all you can only post relating to ones own experiences.
Is Wildbus able to supply in depth details of the guarantee procedure for every generic supplier of electronic MH items including Renogy ? I doubt it very much, there's just too many of them.
Is he letting his previous experience of generic equipment bias his view on Renogy? Yep.
Did he choose his wording of his post perfectly? Probably not.
Are you jumping on that error in an attempt to prove a point? I suspect so but is it wrong of him to pass judgement on what he
expects (as opposed to knows for sure) WRT the warranty of a generic product without actually experiencing that for himself? IMHO no, you know a punch in the face is going to hurt, even if you've never actually had a punch in the face and as a business person I wouldn't want to take a punch to the face just to be sure.
