National Trust *may* start reopening

Oh I must have missed that mariesnowgoose - is that in this 50+ page tome? :(

No, there's no reference to time limits in the document.

It's in the Q&A's

1.9 Are day trips and holidays ok? Can people stay in second homes?
Day trips to outdoor open space, in a private vehicle, are permitted. You should practise social distancing from other people outside your household.

Leaving your home - the place you live - to stay at another home for a holiday or other purpose is not allowed. This includes visiting second homes.

Premises such as hotels and bed and breakfasts will remain closed, except where providing accommodation for specific reasons set out in law, such as for critical workers where required for a reason relating to their work.

No, as I said earlier this afternoon, a minister clarified it last night and it was on the news again a couple of times today... with the further clarification of no hotel, b&b or staying overnight at holiday homes.
Day trip is it for sure.

No it's definitely not.

It's another one of those 'clarifications' that came about today on the news, or it might have been in Prime Ministers Questions, but there is definitely a reference somewhere to it, or someone in 'government authority' who has stated that there are no restrictions on how far you can travel in one day, but that you must return home the same day. It's specifically to prevent people from buggering orf to their holiday homes etc. so we should assume the same ruling applies to camper vans.

Don't shoot the messenger! :) 😉

PS oops! Sorry, hadn't spotted there had already been replies (y)
PPS Aploogies - I haven't read the full document yet...😁

On the BBC there were a bunch of summary bulletpoints, and one of those included that no overnighting away from home - including a caravan/motorhome or second home was not permitted.

I have not read the document myself so cannot confirm, but the person who posted that article on the BBC website WILL have the job of reading the document, so I am inclined to have belief in his/her summary.

The argument over meeting not more than one person at a time outdoors if not from the same household I assume fits with the idea of reducing transmission and keeping the R number below one?

You can also play tennis, and golf as well, again restricted to only 2 people when you are not from the same household.

Presuming if you are all from the same household you are also free to participate together in the activities above, plus you can do other things like kicking a footie around in the park instead of the back garden etc.

Just said on the news that garden centres are opening from weds. I searched for official info on this but couldn't find any...did anyone spot it anywhere?

It has all boiled down to individuals finding loopholes in a nationwide "plan". Obviously "plan" is stretching the term.

No, I think to is more to do with building herd immunity than anything else.

When you look at where we are now and what has brought us to this pass, it is probably a strategy worth risking, imho.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, you all have to decide that for yourselves.

I've seen that a few times today but it was always the Welsh roving reporter talking about the announcement made there on Friday by the devolved government. Haven't actually heard this for England yet but will keep a lookout ;)
