Hi in Italy at moment using p4night there appears to be a large amount of disturbance and safety issues for wild camping have any negative experiences thanks tia

If it's like France and Spain they don't like you to wild camp but don't mind if you use car parks. Always choose a village instead of a big town.
I would rather use provided stop overs they are so good and can often be found in great places.

We have been all over Italy no problem and the best place is Scicily.
Last year we did all the Alps from one country to the other,no problems mostly for free ( we are Scots )

We did 32 nights in Italy last year; 5 in aires, 7 in rural car parks, 3 in campsites, 15 in urban car parks and 2 in rural laybys. No disturbance or safety issues when wild camping and overall very positive experiences.

Must admit I find your first sentence at odds with my experience

We’ve had three 2-3 month trips in Italy, hardly encountered any problems apart from noise in towns and lots of litter in southern Italy. And some rather ‘interesting’ roads.
