Hi in Italy at moment using p4night there appears to be a large amount of disturbance and safety issues for wild camping have any negative experiences thanks tia
 
If it's like France and Spain they don't like you to wild camp but don't mind if you use car parks. Always choose a village instead of a big town.
I would rather use provided stop overs they are so good and can often be found in great places.

We have been all over Italy no problem and the best place is Scicily.
Last year we did all the Alps from one country to the other,no problems mostly for free ( we are Scots )

Must admit I find your first sentence at odds with my experience
 
We’ve had three 2-3 month trips in Italy, hardly encountered any problems apart from noise in towns and lots of litter in southern Italy. And some rather ‘interesting’ roads.

Did you add the aires, car parks and laybys in the Location App?
 
We find Italy very accommodating, with Aires in very interesting locations and quaint villages/towns. We discovered roads not so well maintained in coastal areas and motorways became our favourite option to ease the bumps.
Agree with sentiments from UFO, Alcam and Barge1914.
