MOTORHOME INSURANCE FOR THE AGED

So I try for quotes as comfort have increased the renewal again . It's now £450 ish.. 2013 chausson. Around last £385 last year.
I'm having trouble getting cover for trips over 60 days, most give 30 days outside of uk....no good for us.i have quotes for just over £300 with the 30 day limit.
With comfort we get 270 days in one trip. I do know about the 90/180 but theres ways around this.
Guess we stay or does anyone have any recommendations.

At 77 with a few health problems just 35 days in any one trip for us anyway and 8 days in already !!
I'm 73 with health problems . Think I've got 70 days length of trip
Due for renewal £400+

Not so far, but last year it was cheaper than the year before so I expect them to rake the discount back in.

Might be Comfort is not to bad even with the increase of £65.
Saga who are the only other company so far who give 90 day plus in a trip get worse.
So Molly 2 my answer is YES its gone up after 70 years young.

Done mine through AIB as recommended on here, £320 which was £30 less than C&MC but was £20 extra as I had a SP30 speeding fine, I’m 74 ,the guy was really helpful an I am with a division of LV (forgot the name)
C&MC said they would beat any quote by £20 but I said if you cann’t give me your best price to begin with shove it up yer bum.

I have the performance to do end of May/June I'll go via Asda again, been using them for ages now and I hope they come through again I do try AIB each year but they are always miles away from others, I don't need all the extras just straight forward fully comp.

I got my moho when I was seventy, I paid less this year and I will be 78 than I did back then, I don’t think there is a simple answer.
Who is your insurance with please .We are newbies and used Adrian Flux ,but expensive .
Thanks
Liz

Have members found their insurance premium rise when they hit the over seventies and above . .
A big difficulty if you pass 80. Some companies will not look at you if you are a newby motorhomer at over 75. After 2 days of searching found SAGA to be the only acceptable option at around £800 each year for 3 years. Age 82 I have full NCB for over 10 years on 2 policies and caravaned all over Europe for 50 years or so. Found 2 other companies that eventually came back with proposals of around £2000. Luckily my purchase was a smallish Fiat Autotrail Tracker EKS. Any bigger I would be struggling to get any cover!!

Perhaps he took the jabs to drive the ambulances, and became a riskier subject?

I insure my self built van with Scenic Motorhome Insurance from whom only today I received the renewal notice for the coming year and I was very relieved to see that the premium has ony gone up very slightly for the coming year, from £156.43 to a new premium of £164.73, so for a 74 year old that isn't at all bad.

After my last post I negotiated a deal with Saga, it wasn't until after a price was settled on that I was asked if anything had changed from last year, I then remembered to say I'm now pretty much retired, to be informed this increases price, but for this time only it wouldn't affect price.
