Morrisons ( REFUSE TO FILL LPG)

Good news it seems. From another club website…MFG (Morrisons) have relented. After pressure from Gaslow, Alugas and others they have relented. They have instructed their staff that they may serve motorhomes with properly installed internal or underslung tank or bottle systems with approved external fillers. But they must not serve those with portable removable bottles such as Safefill and calor bottles with adapters.
I hope this is true. Be good to get feedback.

Good news if true. Is there anything official about this online though anywhere?

Just called mfg customer services and their stance is still no filling lpg systems on motorhomes even fitted by a registered installers so I'm afraid to inform no go as per
MRG group say they have given the following to Station staff "Any vessel that is a fixed internal part of the vehicle with a fixed fill point that can accept a DeVisser/Boessenkool/GasGuard nozzle is to all intents and purposes the same as a vehicle fuel tank as far as PFS staff are concerned. In simple terms therefore, the instruction that has been issued is ‘If it’s a vehicle, authorise the transaction. If it’s a portable cylinder, do not authorise the transaction’.

I'm sure the person who obtained this on another forum wouldn't mind me sharing it. Perhaps the person in Customer services haven't had the instruction filter down to them yet. And it should be obvious to customer services and station staff that a motorhome is a vehicle, at least I hope so.

I've a feeling it'll mainly die down in time and underslung tanks will more than likely be fillable. I'll keep using them (if it's possible) when it suits me. I don't think there's any malice towards motorhomers in their decision. I suspect it's just an (over)abundance of caution and a less than perfect implementation of a poorly defined policy.
As I said in post #28 back in November. Can't find the "smug bastid" emoji.

I'm guessing this is from "FUN" and Basildog. Sounds legit to me. Great news.

Called mfg today customer services say still no change to the situation
Did you tell then about the instruction. I should have mentioned it was from their risk management department so perhaps they are not in communication with each other. If this isn't resolved within a reasonable time I may ask my source if he can speak to them again and ask them to ensure the message filters down.

Just seen this Post by Autogas2000 Leisure on a Forum where it's Fun, apparently:

As previously mentioned we were as shocked as everyone by the decision from MFG to stop filling certain types of refillable LPG systems, the initial instructions to forecourt staff seemed to be misinterpreted by some and it was hit and miss which systems were being refused.
After sending pictures of many refillable bottle systems from the various suppliers GAS IT , ALUGAS , GASLOW etc this is the response from MFG’s risk management:

So, it seems that Cinderella shall go to the Ball, full of LPG. The Post was made last Saturday, IIRC (31st January 2026)

Anyone know if this place is still active?

Install oil, Zero Waste Access Road, Edinburgh
EH22 1GN
Yes it is. It's a bit fiddly manoeuvring to the pump if your vans big but v doable.
Shell garage in Musselburg also LPG.

If it's of interest there's a good coffee shop/ cafe nearby at Martin and Frost furniture store 1st floor (they have a lift). You can pop in and buy exotic cars across the road too.

Steve

Would that mean that a member of staff would have to inspect the installation each time Steve?
