Morrison lpg

Hi, i have a remote filling point, my brother in law has a wee job with the motorhome hire company at deans road end, they usually fill up at Morrisons bathgate but we're refused, seemingly they have stopped all refillable bottles from getting filled at their stations. There's a comment on the autogas app from someone who tried to fill up at Morrisons livingston on the 5th of this month and was refused. Jim

It could a staff thing, we have never had a problem at morrisons or anywhere else, drive in and look like you know what you're doing, don't phaph around or they might turn the pump off.

The Hymer Facebook group (I think) had a photo of the Morrisons banning note to staff.
Definitely no filling of bottles including safefill if I remember.
The only room for doubt was that they allow filling of vehicles propelled by LPG, so that might be the grey area to allow filling.
I cannot copy Facebook pictures so cannot reproduce the sheet for people to read.
It was about 2 weeks ago.

Just filled at SuperU in Sainte Brice en Cogles @ €0.83 litre, so that's me covered until the spring trip to France/Italy.

AI Overview

Morrisons' policy has been to generally ban refilling LPG motorhome or caravan tanks on health and safety grounds, citing risks associated with the installation of fixed domestic systems and portable cylinders, though some locations may allow Gaslow safefill cylinders. The restriction stems from a 2014 incident involving an improper LPG installation and a fire, leading to a general policy against non-automotive LPG systems at their pumps.

My PVC has an underslung tank with a fixed fill point under a flap on the side. I have filled at three Morrison's not far from me (Barry, port Talbot and Morfa(Swansea)) on many occasions with no problems. I often find myself chatting to other Moho owners doing the same thing on the other side of the pump.

This was posted on the other channel as the memo that went round from MFG who run all the Morrisons petrol stations apparently. Its mainly Safefill or any cylinder you actually fill directly by the sound of it. There is some debate as to whether you will be allowed to fill if you clearly have a filler on the side (Gaslow). I seem to remember in the past people sticking "Autogas" Stickers on their fill point. :D

Hi, i emailed mfg today and this is their response for refillable bottles in motorhomes

Probably would have been better not to have brought it to their attention. Be interesting to see if they stick to it and you get refused with a filler on the side.
I have placed an 'autogas' sticker next to my remote filler for my refillable cylinders should I be stopped from filling(which hasn't happened yet) but I would avoid filling up with diesel at the same time as that would be pushing my luck, unless I had a diesel heater of course!

LOL! I have seen some do that. If I go into a station for both Gas and Diesel I always make a point of getting the LPG First. :ROFLMAO:
