Morrison lpg

AI Overview

Morrisons' policy has been to generally ban refilling LPG motorhome or caravan tanks on health and safety grounds, citing risks associated with the installation of fixed domestic systems and portable cylinders, though some locations may allow Gaslow safefill cylinders. The restriction stems from a 2014 incident involving an improper LPG installation and a fire, leading to a general policy against non-automotive LPG systems at their pumps.
We've filled up at Morrisons Kirkcaldy numerous times since 2021, Kev, so maybe it's a Scottish Devolution/Independence dispensation, or a rebellion :ROFLMAO: . The staff are very helpful, and, during daytime when there are 2 staff in the kiosk, one of the ladies made the hose connection for me, apologising for it being 'a wee bit temperamental'

Our last refill at Morrisons Kirkcaldy was on 20th May 2025, the evening before the DPF Sensor failed ...

Just filled my new Gas low. which arrived and I installed today 😀 at a MFG site (not Morrisons) with 20 litre of their finest , not any problemo!! 👍👍

I just put ‘auto gas’ sign by the remote filler point. Not had an issue and if asked id just say it’s for the vehicle. They aren’t going to lift the bonnet to check 🤔🤞🏻

We use our local (Wellingborough) Morrisons and never had a problem. This is the station that had some d1ck cause a minor explosion and fire trying to refill a Calor cylinders, about three years ago. They had two brand new pumps installed and that cannot be cost effective for LPG cars and vans! This was a couple of years after the other rumour about them stopping doing LPG! This seems to be backed up by that email, but I will take the van over tomorrow or Saturday and will report back.

Filled up at the Winning Post station in Devon today south west of Exeter. Receipt had MFG on it. No problem. Well I say no problem. They have two pumps, 11 and 12 and pump 11 is faulty in that the trigger won't lock. It was like that about four years ago when I last used it. They both also seemed to be emitting quite a lot of LPG vapour which was a bit worrying. :D I mentioned it to the guy behind the till but I might as well have been talking to the LPG pump for all the interest he showed. Certainly nobody stopped me filling. Definitely put your fag out though. Seemed well dodgy. :ROFLMAO:

I tried to fill up at IPSWICH Morrisons LPG, this morning and got refused.

Filled up at Potters, and updated the myLPG app.

They only issued the new instructions in September 2025. You may find your next visit is less successful.

I haven't used the Morrisons near me for a couple of years or more. It used to be one of there cheapest but its half a mile the wrong way for getting out of Hull and always busy. I would just call at one of the BP stations on the A63 a fill up in peace. I don't use enough gas to worry about if I was paying 70p or 90p a litre. Difference isn't as big now I don't think as Morrisons here is 99.9ppl

Where did you get that information from? I went into our Morrisons today and asked the question. No such edict has been given. The one they had was a few years ago and yes, it was supposed to have been in September. It was plastered all over Facebook pages and forums like this. But that was when the new company took over the forecourts. Our pumps were destroyed in a fire from someone filling Calor bottles, but they replaced them. There are not many cars on LPG, so the leisure industry is the market they are aiming at. As we have been told it is OK to fill motorhome refillable or underslung tanks, I really should fire the old girl up and fill with gas!

The one thing I'd never do is ask a Morrisons employee, unless ignorant of it, they will follow whatever their boss says.

But this one held up a laminated sign.

That was local then. If someone in a fuel station says I can fill, that is the current state of affairs. I also spoke to
Morrisons in Great Cambourne, Cambs. They are also OK with filling my LPG.

I don't understand why any one asks it isn't anything to with Morrisons.
I am not sure if you are just being a little pedantic this morning. They are based on Morrisons sites and staffed by people in Morrisons uniforms. And as they work there, I think they are to correct people to ask!

But why ask at all?

I pull up to the pump, and connect the hose, if it doesn't deliver, either it is broken or they won't turn it on, if the latter then i go ask.
