Mirror temperature sensor

No reason to think the thermistor is defective, I simply have not found a way to bring temperature up on the dash display, not even ---. I suspect there would be an engine warning if anything important was not working. I was just hoping someone might know if outside temperature was one of the options on the Series 9.
I cannot comment on your model but on my 2026 2.2 there was no warning on the dash when the ATS was defective.

My dash temp reads very high thing I'm going to try an ebay sender , looks an easy fit .

I was not aware that the dps temperature sensor under the os rhd mirror gave a readout on the dash, rather the ns mirror ambient temperature sensor tells u the temp on the dash, usefull in very cold weather. Mine always reads 80c so is kaput but van rins just fine.
I think It is when temp reads cold or 0 that problems start , still worth getting it fixed

You can be as wary as you like. Overall the quality was very good, thanks. The working bit is only a thermistor worth a few pence, but this one was well encapsulated in a thin stainless tube, the wires were well fixed in and the connector on the end fitted perfectly. If the reading on the screen comes up with the right sort of figure then all is well.
Agreed ,Thermistors are a cheap as chips passive electronic component, a couple of quid plus postage is the going rate for one and paying £60 (or whatever) will only guarantee a thinner wallet, not better functionality or reliability. The difficult part is purchasing one with the exact correct parameters (NTC/PTC and resistance vs temperature) so thanks BJH for the information (y)

Mines 2014 and it does have one, just need to drive it to find out if I have a problem I was completely unaware of 😀
I now have a problem I am aware of, dash reading is 54 degrees, never changes, hadn’t really noticed till this trip and it’s optimistic to say the least.
