Lost ring!

or could you drill a large round hole in the storage compartment under the seat
in the vacinity where you think the ring is.......
.retrieve the ring......then glue the said round piece of wood back in place....sorted
Or put a squre bit of alloy over the hole fixed with a few screws, may be a handy place to hid a safe with cash or other.

Well the lovely lady as Vision Express fixed my glasses FOC so I'm all set for tomorrows operation. Not sure what time kick off is but I'll keep you informed.

I might possibly try the glue idea actually on a coat hanger first.

New approach for tomorrow. I have built my own inspection camera I sh*t you not! :D

Droidcam app on the phone and client on the laptop. Stick the phone into the hole behind the seat and watch live on the laptop screen. Find ring, poke it out with a coat hanger, Go down the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. :D thats the theory anyway.
You could have done the same on two phones by using the Alfred Camera app. It is a good app to use as a security camera system while you are away from the van also.

Better on a full size screen though

Yeeeesss!! Got it! Who ever doubted me eh?

A trained Squirrel would be a great addition actually to the motorhome.

After much studying, thinking and dreaming about retrieving this f*cking ring it was reasonably straight forward in the end. Removing the lid surround is impossible without taking out at the least the iron tubing that holds in the bed extensions but if you remove just the hinged lid and then unscrew the side panel (Window side) and pry it out with some pliers you can get a hand into the area where the cables and hoses are under which is the ring. I then had to unscrew the cable and hose clamps to lift them out of the way and eventually I could get a sharp kitchen knife in to poke it out so I could grab it.

This reminds me of an incident on my boat in about 2005 in winter when I dropped my rather nice Rotary watch into the marina where my boat was moored in about 15 ft of water. That was also a sentimental gift and It took me about two weeks to retrieve it. Each time I tried to get it with fishing rods and all sorts and failed. Eventually got it with one of those telescopic golf ball retrievers. Never give up! :D

I much prefer the coffee enema Ral, more productive, and of course, will, if needed, clear the road for a peep up my back scuttle, if brave enough to get that close.

I'll tell you what.

If Barry had a brain, he would be dangerous.
Trainer on a Course I attended in late 1986: 'One more brain cell and you could have been a plant', followed a little later by, 'I sometimes wonder what happens after two amoebae mate; then I saw you ...' :ROFLMAO: His piéce de resistance was to stand behind anyone who was playing around, and say 'Knock, knock'

When the delegate replied, 'Who's there?', he smacked them on the back of the head, and replied, 'Brian Clough!' ...

Steve

A vacuum cleaner with a small diameter hose taped to the suction end, that will fit down the place the ring fell. I ring won't be too heavy and the suction could pull it out. I have retrieved many a lost item, even screws and bolts from equipment i was "fixing" while away. I thought for next time, because you know there will be a next time, right? 😂 😂
