Pulled into a lovely wild spot right beside Loch Lomond to find this mess!

Looks like camping rubbish including nappies, maybe a weeks worth from a group? The thing is that just a short distance down the road either way are villages with rubbish bins!
We moved along and found another much less stinky spot! I wonder what other dissapointments we will discover on our Scotland trip?

know the layby, it's a well known lochside party spot for low life Buckfasters.
better policing could easily have nabbed this scum.
they'd have been there all night making plenty of noise.
best to avoid any layby right by the loch,
I always use the Duck Bay Marina location,
or the big layby on the left just past Luss,
never had any problems there.

I could give the local council a call tomorrow to make them aware of it, but it sounds like it's regular local occurance!

That's interesting, I'll give the local council a call tomorrow to make them aware of it and see what they say!

I live near there it seems to be worse this year but not uncommon. Local council are the worst at cleaning up any kind of rubbish there should be bins in these lay-bys but west Dumbartonshire council and the people who run the national park dispute who is responsible for these bins so they have none easy way out for both parties.

We noticed that about 20 car tyres had been dumped in our local layby, informed the council and they were gone just two days later - simples! But if they are not aware???

That's handy to know. Maybe a 50:50 split could work? Surely some bin emptying would be far cheaper than banning and policing?

All well and good but that is costing the ratepayer money.

These people need to be caught and prosecuted.
You are quite right, the perpetrators should pay the clean up cost. But the Council have signs saying that there are lots of hidden cameras in the layby, of which it is quite clear there are none at all. ****, cameras are as cheap as and would pay for themselves in no time in fines as it is a regular fly-tipping layby and always has been as it is set back from road view, just like the OP one. Surely councils are not so naive to think that people are going to be scared off by just a sign alone?

There are two wee white bollards as you turn the corner at the west loch hotel just outside of Tarbert, this road leads down to an old ladys cottage and numerous motorhomes have been reversing down and emptying their cassettes. These dirty ratbags will get caught.

I hope they do and are then made to clean it up with their bare hands before being heavily fined.

What is wrong with people??

So is it random that the dirty ones choose that spot? This is where a very powerful cattapult comes in handy, it seems fair game!
