No need to shot blast just remove clean/derust and a suitable colour hammerite (or similar) and repeat every 2 years.
It will also keep the mechanism from seizing up.
You might even do tyre rotation once a year

We got another Autosleeper a few weeks before the first lockdown in 2020, but that turned out to be riddled with tin worm last year (2022), hence why I had the chassis and engine checked over by the garage first before going ahead with this one.

You will notice (well, I have!) that most of the Autosleeper vans of that age currently up for sale (many up for sale for several months!) are nearly all Peugeot engines (or Ford Transit).

Wouldn't touch another old Peugeot chassis and engine (or Ford) with a barge pole - hopefully we'll not have to now! (y)🤞 😁

That was our problem, except the vans we were looking at were not the fixed bed models, but the drop down bed at the front (like the Hymers).

That was then, this is now, and we didn't want to go for an A class this time round, plus the Laika really would be too big for the driveway. 🤷‍♀️

Seems that Honey Pie has ignored your simple request, but seeing as you are my fwiend I am happy to report that said vehicle has successfully covered 60k miles & cost the king’s ransom of £21.5k.
The lady owner was heartbroken to have to bring to an end 13 years of solo motorhoming due to illhealth (looks as tho she might have Parkinson’s) & her sons apparently told her she’d set the price too low.
Yup, we’ve been jammy so-&-so’s to get this babe at this price & from just a couple of miles away. :cool:

Raising two sons I was determined that they knew how to do all the practical domestic stuff round the house. Son number one was ironing his own uniform at 9 and went on to scorch my brand new cream carpet 😂
Son number two taught himself how to cook as a teenager by watching all the programmes and to this day is a really impressive cook ( as you know my cooking skills are iffy 🙄
Both are tidy freaks like me… I shaped Paul into a domestic goddess too !
