I've been told that there are many sostras, or 'picnic areas' in Italy. Does anyone know if there is a map available, a website to go to or a POI?

Hi,
If you can navigate this website in French it is very useful CAMPINGCAR-INFOS .There are about 1500 in Italy and you can search either on a map or by place name.![]()
You can get it from here (Italian Sostas)
Vicarious Books - Camping Caravaning and Motorhome stopover site guide publishers.

I've found San Giuliano car park. Right at the end of the causeway, €5 per 24 hours. All I need now is to work out how to get over the causeway...
Job done. Buses here don't take cash. You need to get a pre paid ticket from a Hellovenezia stand or from most shops and other outlets. From the first bus stop you come across on Forte Marghera in Mestra (1.5 miles walk from San Giuliano aire) it's €1.30 into Piazzela Roma, and the same back. So if you were to go into Venice each day it's €7.60 per day for one. Nice going eh?
By the way the weather was outstanding today![]()
