Is there something happening we are not being told?

There is lots of diesel as its a by-product of making gas petrol and aviation fuel, gov just dont want use to use it because electric is on its way full time in seven years, by that time or sooner it will hit £5 a ltr and the rd tax will be £500 for ICE.
And the country will be hit by hi inflation rocketing food costs , and don't forget sparky cars will get hit with road tax soon and the B of E will put up interest rates ,rates ,

The worse is yet to come....EDIT: although what I wrote is what I firmly believe will happen, I doubt very much it would pass censorship and sanction.
Oh well. :censored:

9 miles to Costco avonmouth so an 18 mile round trip has been worth it especially as we were shopping but as from The weekend I need to pass through 100 yards of clean air zone on the portway so the extra 9 pound doesn't make it viable😡

Diesel is cheaper than petrol in NZ but you do have to pay Road User charges which you buy at the post office in 1000km blocks. At the moment it equates roughly to premium petrol.

Couple of screenshots from a fuel price app I use. If we’re on the way to/from our son’s place we fill up at Horwich. The second is the prices around home. There is an independent in Wolverhampton we have used which is always far cheaper for petrol and diesel. The supermarkets are at it I reckon.

Cheers
