As far as layout goes, on any van, if I see this, I move one, for us, it's a total waste of space that would allow a better bathroom or kitchen.

We don't have to turn our front seats, but in retrospect I would have shortened our 'L' shaped sofa a bit so we could have had a longer bathroom.

We've had a couple of vans with whirly seats but never used them.

Our third van a Laika, had a dinette up front, and a fixed bed, great van, but nowhere to relax.

Looks like good use of space to me. Why waste two comfortable arm chairs and the space they occupy. Would be totally wasted if they were not turned round.

Couldn't agree more . Wouldn't consider otherwise. And that's why its implemented 90% of the time, leaving 10% not for the naysayers

Each to their own, of course. I did say it doesn't work for us. Swivel seats are okay, but it raises the seat height a bit.

I have swivelled the driver's seat 90° to put my feet on the passenger seat a couple of times, when Liz has been having a nap in the rear lounge.

If you turn them 180°, then there needs to be space to do that. We prefer a rear lounge, which means, unless you actually need/want a dedicated place solely to eat, it's wasted space, quite a lot of space, and needs a longer van to accommodate it.

Our van would be 2 cramped with any more than 2 of us in there so a small sofa suits us fine - and the dogs can lie on it whilst travelling.

It is a good use of space, but understand why it's not for everyone. It does seem to be the commonest layout though in euro panel vans.

Ideally, a lower seat base is fitted with a swivel seat, but obviously when the swivel is aftermarket, the chances are it's going on a standard seat base.

I have swivel passenger seat, but not drivers seat. One of my pet hates is people messing with my seat.

From what I have seen over the years more vans have swivel seats than not. You are never going to find a common layout that everyone agrees is best thats for sure. I've never had them and prefer the layout we have always had but on a shorter van I can see why its actually a good use of space and there are of course advantages of having a shorter van. Horses for courses of course.

That style layout does make sense if there is enough room allowed to turn into a bed. That's not often the case though.

Sort of Kev, we fold down the middle seat back squab and crawl through onto the sofa when it's raining.

It's a bit awkward but manageable.

We can do that with our van, I've been banished to it when the girls are in the back, not very comfortable, but I'd still have the same layout even without the front bed.
