Hyundai HY2000Si petrol generator

A neighbour has offered us one for a silly price due to a bereavement, but having no experience of these and some electrical gremlins, do you think it a worth while venture, despite the dreaded David?
Peter

Ask how long the petrol has been in it Peter. It may need maintenance.

I've had a honda generator 10 yrs though i'd need it But only used it seriously 10 times at the most . Will you need this

At the price she asked and with our fridge problems it's probably worth the risk, but what I wanted to know is are they any good?
ps, our son said he would buy it us for Christmas

Thank you, but I assume that it has only been there since Easter this year so a simple flush of the system should probably suffice ( I think !!!! )
Peter

Apparently petrol is only good for 6 weeks or so now Peter and can start forming crystals in the carbs, not necessarily the end of the world and not necessarily true!

I never know who to believe these days!

True for sure Rob, that all I do every spring with outboard donkeys, carb carbs carbs, if only the folk flushed them.

Although I am quickly losing my marbles, the basics of my motorcycle B tec qualifications and distant experience are still there, hopefully, so that should not present much of a problem, but my original question was; Anyone with any experience of these? are they any good?

Yes. They are good and the best thing is some models have a remote start. We’re having a power cut at the moment😳

I do apologise, I'm not having a pop at anyone, I'm just trying to find out if it's worth our son spending £150 on one of these for us and trying to find out real world experiences.

For that price a bit of a no brainer and I would expect it to start without too much bother.

Before you make your mind up to buy it @oppy have a go at starting it with the pull cord as I found as you get older you don’t have the same stamina as you used to have, hence I bought the remote start Hyundai 2000sei which I sold when I parted with my motorhome in 2019.

John.
