How to set up TV

I have ordered an adapter for the lead I’ve got, which should arrive midweek. I will try that and see if I get any reception and report back.

Thanks for all the information
The adapters arrived and it turns out I ordered the wrong ones!! I've reordered the correct ones. Fingers crossed

are you sure your Avtex does not have a sat connection, mine does it has both sat and terrestrial
I've just double checked and there isn't a satellite connection.

The TV came with our old motorhome in 2015, so its probably too old to have the satellite connection.

The lead that comes from your sat dish needs to go into a sat receiver so the lead screws into the receiver then I've a lead from the sat receiver with screw one end and ordinary tv push in plug the other

I have just had the avtex aerial delivered today. I have tried it out on my drive with good results. My status directional aerial got 108 channels, and so did the avtex aerial which cost just £35. It’s a bit of a faff setting it up, but once set up it works perfect. The best way to use it is to try tuning it in from a set position. Once tuned in try moving it about the van till you get the best reception, then retune. If this gives me more roof space for solar on the new van it’s well worth considering. I will be heading to Arran next month, I will try it out there, and report back.

I have just ordered one. I will compare it with my current directional aerial. If it’s as good as is reported I will use it on my new van being supplied next year. This will save money, and free up some space on the roof for solar. If it’s not as good I will sell it. I will post how I get on.
The avtex arial is great been using a few years most places I just chuck it on the dashboard and it works I also have this app on my phone which tells you the direction the antennas are so I know which end or side of the van to chuck it

Thanks Annie I will download it today.
I was surprised yesterday at getting same 108 channels on the avtex Aerial as I did using my status directional aerial. One concern I have is in certain rural areas you need to use the aerial vertically to get a local transmitter. I will test it out on the west side of Arran on a section were only a local signal is available.

l have placed an order too so will report in due course. Annie is that antenna finder for apple as I cannot find it on the google playstore??

I usually throw the Avtex aerial out the skylight or put the suction cup sticker high on door side of van. Mostly stream when I want to watch for, aerial more for F1

Yes I found one just wondered if the one you mentioned had an android version but no matter.

After trying out the powered antenna option on the avtex tv against using the booster supplied, the booster wins hands down. It’s a pain having to power it from a 12v socket, but there’s a significant difference.

Has anyone used the avtex aerial in a van conversion, or a camper.
I am wondering how it would perform inside a metal van.

The correct adapters arrived and I can’t get a signal, so I must need a satellite receiver to connect to the tv.

Can anyone recommend a cheap 12v satellite receiver I could use to try out the dish? I don’t want to throw money at it in case it doesn’t work.

I placed an order ten days ago now with Valuestors.co.uk. Got a mail saying they had the order and since then nothing. I got a message from gmail this morning saying my emails have bounced. The "accompany phone number" plays a message saying the person at extension something is unavailable which is very odd for a primary contact number. I suspect I'll have to contact my bank.

Have you, as you did in your above post, been leaving out the "e" between the "r" and "s" in the domain name when emailing them? And have you been putting in the ".co", which is apparently not part of their address? Either/both could account for emails bouncing.

I have been testing the avtex aerial on my current Arran trip, and it has proved to be as good as my roof mounted directional vision plus aerial. I got the chance to test it at a location were only vertical reception is possible. I have found that for normal horizontal signals it works better upright, but for vertical (local) signals it worked better horizontally. What is important is it’s pointing as accurately as possible in the correct direction. The only thing I can’t trust is will it work as well internally in a metal van conversion.

No I haven't. The phone number for the parent company goes to the same strange voice mail as the valuEstorEs one. The emails keep bouncing and when I tried to use the contact us form on the website that said sorry not working, after of course I had filled it all out. I placed the order on the 28th of August and got a mail to say they had the order and they took the money on that date. Since then not a peep.

Well the bank sorted it out and I am refunded.

From another company, the aerialarrived on Saturday and I had a play with it at the house. The standard aerial on the van gave 102 channels and the new one a mere 79. Bit disappointed at that but will try it in locations we normally get no signal.
