It's rare tho, so I wouldn't stress about it as that will probably bring the ME back! Tucking trousers into socks in long undergrowth with deer around is probably sensible tho.
OMG !!!!!!
I have been looking on the nhs site about Lyme's disease. I love the Lake District, and go as often as poss, ( to hike ).
We are going to wales, in our new camper, again to hike. I have had ME for years, and have just began to feel better. Perhaps I had Lyme's, or will get it !
I am going to smother myself in insect repellent, wear tucked in clothing, but, I have long hair what about my head ? I think I need a swimming cap, or shower cap, lol.
Seriously, it worries me. Add to that .....hubby is going fishing, as he does often. He may bring some back with him !
Help.
Cockerel that kindly wakes you up early in the morning. :sleep-040:
I recently met a lady on a wildcamping trip that swears by Avon skin-so-soft as an insect repellant. She is from up north and says that it is sold in many shops, especially in Scotland, as a repellant , us a lot by hikers....she said to rub a bit on your 'hot spots' ..wrists, behind knees, near ankles, shoulders and temples. Anyone ever used it ?
Good morning,
Still here and itchy leg but no worse than yesterday. Luckily we had some insect bite relief spray in the van that takes the itch off a bit.
The post above is right about there been loads of bugs. I read that for every single human there are 180 million insects.
Isn't motorhoming great. As well as the horsefly this site also has a Cockerel that kindly wakes you up early in the morning. :sleep-040:
BTW I have heard that Avon have changed to formulation of the "so soft" and it is no longer anything like as effective against midges, but I have no experience of it then or now.
Better to be safe than sorry, get your leg chopped off. :lol-049:
Nah, that was a false info "leak" doing the rounds on t'internet a few months ago (last year if memory serves).
It still works just fine.

Sounds more like it. I wondered why a manufacturer would change a formula of a product and risk cutting sales.
I'm glad about that. My missus bought a dozen bottles of the stuff!
I've still got a couple of bottles of Skin-so-Soft and 1 of smidge, didn't need it on the last 3 trips over the border as one trip was in March and 2 were in October.
