Help desicion needed MH or caravan

looks like mentioning the Ca***an word here is not allowed!!!!so looks like keeping the MH is the more popular thanks guys for all your comments I think we have been suitablty chastised for even thinking about it, maybe go for a bigger one then and tow a car with it, we already have bikes and use buses and think that by making the move to a caravan could never financially go back to a motorhome anyway Thanks again guys for making OUR mind up:):)

Now, I do have difficulty getting my wiksey diffused head around that alternative.

If you want to park up for a week or two and tour then a car and tin tent is the only sensible choice.

'kin 5th weelers nex!

You could try asking the question on some caravan forums. I mean it's kind of like going to a Catholic Church group and asking if abortion is acceptable :D

I have just thanked your post, I think you have used an apt but perhaps tactless analogy . ;)

But I understand the point , asking MH or caravan on a MH caravan is going to conjour up some weird and wonderful answers at the very least.

I thought my last post was quite accurate and dispassionate and now you've gone and ruined my night!

Not sure what kind of car you drive but if I get over 20mpg out of the Kontiki im pleased! My diesel Golf will do over 50mpg even when flogged down the M1 all day at 90mph!
we just changed the car to compensate the £200 tax per year and lower mpg from our new motor home.....got a Toyota aygo fantastic little car 12 months tax £35 and 68 mpg....beat that! ;)

You could turn up next to my van in a wheel barrow with a tarpaulin over the top and Id still share a beer with you! I graduated to a 6 berth MH from years and years of boys trips in a 1967 Commer Caravanette , then a 1972 VW and tent (which we still use) and we were mostly ignored, in fact actively avoided by Motorhomers and Caravan owners. Mind you the sight of 9 drunken english blokes and a Frenchman falling out of the back of the Commer was probably enough for most of the locals to lock up their daughters and run for the hills. Happy days!
