Hand brake.

Anyone know where the tightening nut will be to the hand brake?

It's an Adria Coral 680 SL on a Ducato 18JTD LWB. The hand brake is low down on the right hand side, there is no obvious cover that I can see that would give me access.
If it is only low on the right wheel adjusting the cable will not help, Ducato's have a single cable (adjustable) from the lever to an equaliser cable which isn't adjustable, if one side isn't working it is the brake itself that needs checking, they are self adjusting but it stops working over time

I think he is referring to the physical location of the handbrake lever ...

I have quite long arms but it is still a reach I find, so after seeing Carrots (a fellow forum member) van when he was over at my place, I decided to copy what he did and fitted a Rare Spares handbrake extender.
I think it works very nicely :). Here is a video of someone fitting one to give an idea of what I am talking about ....

It could be the camera angle but that extender looks like it could do you an unwanted accident if you sit down to soon. Is it above seat level as it appears in the video?

When the handle is up it is above the seat squab, yes.
I don't use it like the chap in the video - he leaves the clip in so the extender is always up, and gives it a (fairly firm) knock to release. I don't use that clip and drop the handle out the way so it is in a very similar position to standard and as it happens would be harder to release, not easier (sounds contrary to the purpose, but I like it :) )

This might help if the extender is something you might be interested in?

Extender Handle Up with Handbrake on

I like how this is a reminder to release the handbrake! because it is set to the right and so low it is very easy (for me anyway) to forget about it as supplied by FIAT.

I leave it in this position after I use the Handbrake - be it putting it on or turning it off. I never ever use the pin to keep the extender up.
When the handbrake is on and the handle is dropped, the handbrake CANNOT be accidentally released, so it is a good safety feature IMO in a motorhome which may be parked up and stuff moved around the cab without the driver in his seat.

Seat swivelling with Handbrake on

If the extender handle is down, the seat swivels just the same as before (on my seats, they swivel whether the handbrake is off OR on).

We use a Kobran extender.

Funny enough this is the WildAx approach to getting the Ducato handbrake to clear the seat swivel. We drove one of the first and it was appalling, noticed a 66reg with exactly the same mod.

Found a cable and nut behind the handbrake, tried tightening it but it wouldn't budge. Probably not what I'm looking for anyway?
Having trawled through YouTube it appears that Richard may be right regarding adjusting from the rear wheels.
Thought also occurred to me that the MH had an MOT in June and maybe the handbrake was adequate to pass? Perhaps the travel of the handbrake from off to on is normal?

Could you get a Haynes manual for your model of Fiat, it would have the handbrake setting procedure in it.

The main adjustement is within the rear hubs. I remember my handbrake was fairly poor and borderline and the garage adjusted the handbrake at - I think - the lever but warned me it really needs doing at the rear wheels.
The next year the rear brakes were replaced in fact.

There should be adjustment on the cable because you are supposed to slacken it off before adjusting the rear brakes or changing shoes/pads

That is not an adjuster nut but a fixture nut leave alone, 3 clicks is the normal setting for h brakes, prob the rear hubs require sorted.
