Generator Rant

The worst I experienced was as at a race met at Caldwell Park.
At around 10.pm a trailer rig turned up and managed to park in between me and another van, just. On the trailer 'A' frame he had one of these bolted on , The noise was bad enough but I was so close to my van I could feel the vibrations.
Couldn't stand it anymore and I complained, he wondered what the problem was, it was keeping his fridge cold. He turned it off at midnight and ran a suitcase one overnight, then back on at 7am.

As I now Motorhome and cycle a lot with an electric bike, tend to visit a campsite every few days in order to recharge my batteries. I tend to use an additional battery and transformer to recharge the bike battery. Perhaps. It the best option but it works fairly well for me.

No experience with bike battery charging, but I use a 300w PSW inverter to charge my scooter batteries, 24v @ 5 amps. I have 170W of solar and a 100Ah LA battery, which seems to work fine. I try to charge most stuff while driving; it also has to charge two tablets, two phones and a Chromebook.

I understand that if you have a small Leisure battery and little solar that when stationary for a few days you may want to use a generator, but putting it behind my van and running it while you wonder off for the day is just taking the p##s tbh.

Then chaining and locking it to my rear carrier is really taking the p##s, needless to say I’ve turned it off and left a “polite note” 😡

Rant over
Shame you couldn't cut the chain, chuck the genny in a ditch and move your van where he couldn't see it.

I presume (and hope) that I'm not breaking any rules by quoting my message from Admin.
Reason: The post is suggesting the member damage/destroy someone else's property (cutting a chain, ditching a generator) and move their van to evade the owner. This goes beyond joking banter and constitutes advice to commit criminal damage and theft-related activity, even if framed as frustration.

Oops

Most instances it isn't the generator it is the person using it. I have a genny although rarely used these days but will when I need to. Race circuits are a place where you would expect a lot of genius as well so that bit seems fine, questionable bit is why the heck you run it for aircon when going out. The bit that would tip me over though would have been chaining it to my rig.

Really, this is so obviously not an inciteful post, just silly banter, the AI needs to be able to distinguish the difference.

AI and google are everywhere sticking there nose in where not wanted, free tube and other platforms running on linux has been blocked from a few days back, all down to control and monies, soon we will be just a cash cow for the control freeks at the top of the chain. :(

I can see why people use generators, and why others don't like them.

However... the comments about physically disabling aka breaking them because you find them noisy is not acceptable in my opinion. If someone was singing loudly and you didn't like the song, would you punch them in the face?

And someone chaining their generator to someone elses vehicle? Really? I find that a pretty incredible thing to do. What if that person wanted to drive away? They'd have to drag the genny along for the ride which would not do it a lot of good.

If you sang the wrong songs in parts of belfast then yes you would get a smack in the buggle, and maybe a tad more. 😂😂😂

What you have to consider is this is a racing circuit with lots of people who don’t follow rules and try to get something for nothing, there 2 zones a general and a quite zone. On top of entry it cost £110 for my reserved space in the quite zone, and the “chap” not only hadn’t reserved a space in any zone, so should have been in the free camping, where his generator would be fine. But also parked in the space between 2 MHs who had left a safe space.

Chaining his generator to my van, probably made him think it would be ok as I had a pass in my windscreen. When asked to move he should have done so, instead of getting abusive.

The quiet/family area. They don't really police it at all in my experience, BSB meets. One I went to at Brands Hatch, 5 smallish VW vans parked up a circle and played rave music til 2am very LOUD.
