I understand that if you have a small Leisure battery and little solar that when stationary for a few days you may want to use a generator, but putting it behind my van and running it while you wonder off for the day is just taking the p##s tbh.

Then chaining and locking it to my rear carrier is really taking the p##s, needless to say I’ve turned it off and left a “polite note” 😡

Rant over

We’ve had a chat and he’s moved it, I explained how a plug spanner, long screwdriver and a hammer would stop it permanently.

His wife’s not too happy, but I think he felt he had a better chance with her than me. Not the first time I’ve had similar issues at a race circuit.

We bought for our 2/3 van A Laika 7RG, which denotes a garage; it came with a Honda genny, it was in an enclosed soundproof box, which lifted off to start it. You could just about hear it inside the van, and barely stood next to the garage, we only used it a few times, but flogged it as I didn't like the fumes.

Sold my genny and upgraded Lithium Kev, mostly because it was a faff, but if like them you wanted to run the aircon all day (while out) guess you need a genny.

Place is full of them Gordon, a couple set up in a reserved and paid for pitch yesterday, they haven’t reserved a space only general camping. Then the guy who’d paid turned up and they refused to move, I got a chair and a beer and watched. Great fun 😂

It must be a motorsport thing!

I was having an early evening beer outside my MoHo at an off road 4x4 event when my neighbour came over and to complain about the noise my genny was making.
He was giving me a good blasting for being a selfish bar steward who didn't care about spoiling other people's enjoyment.

When he finally paused to think up more descriptions to call me I took the opportunity to point out that my genny wasn't running and that noise was from two rows behind us.

And how did a air cooled genny manage, must be outside in fresh air.

I tend to find if a generator is parked strategically by my van it discourages people from parking to close. Not that I am antisocial you understand.
