gas lockers

Annie, have you considered fitting an underslung 'gas it' tank, (not a bottle) it is amazing how much cash can be saved by filling up on the fore-court and you would recoup the initial outlay very quickly indeed! Also of course you wouldn't have to worry about gas locker regulations and possibly have more storage room available. See you at Rutland!

Will look into that next year along with solar panels fir now we will stick with the gaz but good thought.

Correct - and I am married to a retired lawyer so maybe I should withdraw my previous advice! The point is, however, recourse to the law is a very expensive business - especially since there is no guarantee that you would win. Better to close down as many loopholes as possible as early as possible in my opinion.

There is a world of difference between closing down common sense 'loopholes,' which I would obviously support as they actually can improve ones safety, and pandering to the disaster mongers who only enjoy others fear.

The Insurance Ombudsman deals with any refusals to pay out, unless the gas installation was a factor in the claim then Insurance Companies cannot wriggle out these days, personally I would never ask the Broker for their advice and just make sure you follow regs and advice for the Country you are in, they don't decide a claim so you might as well ask on here because we don't decide either

I agree but is the problem, One mans disaster mongerings is anothers sanitised common sense loophole?

I am struggling to think of one part of En1949 that is bereft of common sense. ( my regulator analogy is a different En under the umbrella of EN1949)

When an OP states they werent aware that LPG was heavier than air, I dont see any scaremongering other than for their own safety how far, how much work should they do themselves , how much to leave to those qualified.? When it is apparent their skill level and knowledge of basics is lacking?

We all need to learn, but often under the mentoring of someone qualified, not a forum, and certainly we dont get left to our own devices.

I am not sure who you are referring to when you talk about disaster mongers but to suggest to someone that it might be a good idea to see what is covered and what is not can hardly be called disaster mongering.
