Fuel duty rises: budget small print

Never, is probably pushing it a bit. :ROFLMAO:

But, two things!
1: I've never claimed not to be biased.
2: That doesn't mean I am. :D
I’ve never claimed to be a Mensa member,
But that doesn’t mean I’m not.

Now if you reply to this message, it proves conclusively you’re biased.
The balls in your court :)

Any BBC source is not to be trusted. Full stop.

A ridiculous thing to say. The BBC are the most trusted media platform in the UK and one of the most trusted across the globe. They don't always get it right as we saw recently with the Trump fiasco but most of the time they do.

I would always check alternative sources for any news but generally the BBC is up there with the likes of Reuters etc.

I always find it amusing though when people say the BBC can't be trusted when you ask them which media platform they get their news from. The answers are often hysterically funny.

Late to this thread but politicians speak:

What was said "We are freezing fuel duty for 5 months"

What was meant "In 5 months we are going to cancel the long running freeze in fuel duty and start INCREASING it"

You know I totally agree Barry. But this goes a step further there’s absolutely nothing subjective in informing people what’s in the budget. There is no journalism here, no opinions, just a simple report verbatim what’s been announced in the budget. It’s not open to scrutiny, judgement, or any kind of bias.

The cable from charger is what voltage.
EVs have two input sockets used for charging.
1)230v AC input socket
All AC chargers (i.e. (grannie; wall mounted box; 3 phase charger) output 230v AC.
These are called "Type 2" and are sometimes referred to as type 2 cables rather than type 2 chargers.

2)Low voltage DC socket.
Most Commercial chargers are sophisticated transformers and output a lower voltage and DC.
There are many standards for the DC socket (e.g. (CCS1, CCS2, CHAdeMO, GB/T, and Tesla)
A few commercial venues also offer 230v AC chargers.

To answer your question - if a cable goes across the pavement it is connected to a domestic supply and is carrying 230v AC.

Hope that helps you understand EV charging.

Our 'domestic' supply is 3ph, as I posted above this could be used in a gully cable, I was surprised to learn that quite a few houses have 3ph.

so the BBC were lying when they reported on this part of the budget.

So this part of the budget is simply BBC propaganda, and does not exist then.

The BBC “source” was the same source every other platform used, the budget.
I never said they were lying. I said they cannot be trusted as a source. Like every other media outlet they get things wrong, they get things right. And like many organisations, they have a track record of bias and inventing things. They are not the BBC of even 15-20 years ago. This stuff isn't hard, Fishy.

No offence that's so out of touch Barry.
