How about overpowering the filth pin them to the ground give them a few slaps and then use a piece of paper and paper cut them for over an hour.

Oh my :D :D :D :D :D :D :p

That would really sort em out - they would remember not to mess with you again and if the story got around they would never try to attack another motor home again - yey :D

I can see it now a knock on your motor vehicle at 2 in the morning to find Gordon Brown with Alistair Darling asking for a parking fee, hell i see no reason to let them off ...........chinese burns and knuckles rubbed across their heads all round..

In France you can legally buy a 100000 volt stun gun, about £60, buy the long one that has the body like a maglite better for reach, I've never had to use it but from what I've seen on US telly I would really like to, remember its considered a firearm in the UK so it you bring one back put a maglite head over the business end and leave it on display in your door pocket. ps, don't test it on your tongue:D

Personally, I always have the frying pan quite near.

Frying pan = Big surface area to hit the buggers with.

Also My cooker give or take a foot is next to the door. So naturally ' In the panic officer I was scared and just grabbed it' :)

I've just been talking to a great guy today who is ex military and served during the worst parts of the most recent Balkan wars. Recommendation was "take an air pistol, nobody will stay when that's pointed at them 'cos they can't tell the difference between that and a real gun."

Made me think that the Chinese Burn might be the best option. I'm going for that and a reliance on our wits, with a big lump of what the hell thrown in.

TishF650, I went one better and have 1 Air rifle and 1 Air pistol in my van.
Obviously I will have to remove them if going abroad but whilst in the UK they stay in my van when out and about.
I sleep with pistol loaded under my pillow.

I hope you never have to use either for two reasons,
1) I hope that you will never be so much in fear that you feel you have to
2)you'll be lucky if you don't finish you in prison if you do :(

You say that you don't take them abroad - ironically I asked if anyone had heard of people coming under attack in the UK and no-one replied. So seemingly, the time when you are most likely to need these weapons you won't have them?

Are airguns classed as firearms these days? I know some catapults are

I would hazard a guess and say yes Airguns are classed as firearms today.
I hope I never have to use them in anger/fear as well, but you never know what may occur in the future.
As for ending up in prison that is a chance that I am prepared to take to protect myself.

Airguns are only classed as firearms if they produce over 12lbft at the muzzle, and there are very few that do. Most manufacturers make theirs on the limit so that potential customers dont have to go to the bother of getting a firearms certificate.

That said, in public places the law says they must be in a locked case, and there's certain limits on having them in transit (you must have a legitimate reason)

But as someone said earlier, better on trial than dead.

Hint - a 12lbft airgun, when loaded with a STEEL pellet, will do as much damage as a .22 rimfire type firearm

Surely an aerosol of Ralgex- Deep Heat would do the bizz!!;)

Torque Wrench now there is a great weapon.I will take mine with me a cracking lump of metal that would cause a bit of serious damage!!

I have a 250 lb/ft one, about 3 feet long, that'd make you wince ! :)

Surely a M/H is a locked case but miin is a Fiat, not a Transit

A post on another forum is quite interesting I give a quote

I take some protection with me that is legal to posses. A gas pistol .177 calibre and a pistol crossbow of 80 lbs pull and a competition catapult with illuminated sights. All of these are good for furry vermin as well and my personal best on a camp in the Vendee was 51 rats ; mice ; shrews; voles and coypu - these latter are sods in the cooktent. If you have an earlier van such as mine I also use an alarm of the personal variety where a prg is pulled from the body of the device to operate it and I superglue the parts accross the Quarterlight so if the thief cuts the quarterlight of fwith a stanley knife the alarm would sound. This would also be picked up by the radio as sensivity is adjustable.you tend to want all things creeping crawling or slithering to be killed immediatly. The others not mentioned previously are the snakes [adders] which love tents and they tend not to come out when called so the rounders bat gets used fairly frequently. Works on mixy rabbits which were popularly found round the pool. Eric -the french equivalent of me- was ,like me ,frequently seen with a bloodstained carrier bag and we used to shake by touching elbows. This was very common after cleaning out the sewer pipes. Happy days.

It would not pay to use the same site as them

another quote

Airguns in Public Places
It is against the law for anyone to have an airgun in a public place unless they have some proper reason for doing so - for example, it has just been confiscated from an offender. A public place is anywhere where the public are allowed to go, regardless of who owns the land, and even though they may have to pay. Roads, streets, footpaths, canal towpaths, public parks, play areas are all examples of public places. If the general public have some sort of right or permission to be in a particular place, that is a public place and you are not allowed to have a loaded airgun in that place.
