Although I've only been a member here for a couple of weeks I've been using a campervan/motorhome for decades and have overnighted in an assortment of places - some good - some awful.
I don't travel much in the UK but when I do it tends to be short trips to urban places and frequently arriving quite late at night.
Mostly, I will simply find a quiet residential area and grab myself a quiet spot, ideally alongside a garden flank wall. Practically every town has them, they are often free of parked cars, not in front of anyone's house and well illuminated.
Now I don't know if you would call that wilding and whether or not you would see that as acceptable conduct, but I see myself as just another vehicle parked on the street. Countless number of places and no POI necessary (unless you happen to find somewhere special).
I'm usually long gone before any residents are aware of me.
Am I the only one who does this or is it "normal practice"?
