Fiat ducato Rapido 2017 2.3 won’t start!

Well, to finalise this saga, the result is not good.
Apparently a squirrel had decided to use the timing chain cover to store his winter acorns.
When the cover was removed a huge quantity of them fell out. In trying to start the engine 5 teeth and a pulley had been damaged.
The result total strip down of engine, head to be rectified etc.
None of you could have guessed that one.
Just awaiting the bill now!
Thanks for your input.

Dont see how he got in there as most covers are inclosed, yes head of to look for bent valves or piston damage, better start singing on street corners as its a big bill on the way. :(

Photos enclosed!!

I would suggest it was mice, not squirrels. A squirrel will not get behind the cover unless they have opened it up more, a mouse will find it's way in without too much trouble.

No good eh? So much damage without even the engine starting!
