Hi folks. After lots of advice im of to Scotland in September doing the sw 300. Then its almost three weeks touring Scotland in October. But, today my pensions are finally sorted and i plan to bugger of to Europe next year. But i only went to Holland in my motorhome but have travelled much further afield on the motorcycles. So I'm after more advice. If you could recommend a route, places to see in Europe particularly northern Europe in autumn/winter or other places when not to hot where would you recommend. I have a campervan a T6 and like wild camping.

Thanks all.

Do some research on French aires.German Stellplatz,Italian Sostas and Spanish area de autocaravanas.

These are all motorhome parking areas ,some basic others with a few more facilities. They are either free or cheap. The local authorities want you in their town or village, to spend money in the local shops and cafes.

Buy good scale, up to date maps.
There are some good books available, especially from vicarious media.
There are parking places on this website, also other apps.

Don't overplan where you're going. If you're able don't book the return crossing making it easy to return by another route.

Don't know if this will help or not.

Below is a link, believe it or not.

If you are going Autumn / winter northern Europe will be similar to the UK weather wise. Bear that in mind. In winter many Alpine passes will be closed.

Would be more helpful if you told us what kind of stuff you want to see. We for example prefer the mountains in the Alps and Pyrenees and do a lot of biking so summer is our preferred time to go although last years heatwave in the south of France was horrendous. To avoid the worst of it we headed 6500ft up into the Pyrenees for a week. So elevation is key when its warm. France has just about everything anyone would want and its the most motorhome friendly country in Europe.

Thanks all. We love mountains, rivers, forests, beaches. Basically anywhere where its not congested like cities. Love different foods also. Lots of places for me to photograph as I love wildlife and landscapes. Im starting to plan a trip to Scandinavia but loved my trips abroad on the motorbike to Belguim, Holland, Germany and France.

Winter trip to Scandinavia is always an adventure. Only downside is, especially above artic circle is the very short days mid winterish. It's also a blooming long way and nothing is cheap in any of the nordic counties. Apart from that it's a great trip. Could do a circle and come back via Estonia, and Eastern Europe. Plenty for a wildlife/landscape photographer in all of the countries.

On the other hand, don't think any of Europe is particularly hot winter time. Down through France, over Maritime and Ligurian alps and down through Italy would be a great tour, maybe take in Corsica and Sardinia too.
