EU Pet Passports no longer valid for UK residents

I thought that too, but after all the challenges and requests for clarification, surely someone would have corrected it? DEFRA has changed the wording on their website though, changing words like ”must” [use an AHC] to.”should” so there's a small climb-down.

The tunnel seems to be accepting them if that helps?
Pretty sure DFDS have removed the AHC reference from their site

Irish ferries still showing AHC ruling . Possibly the only ones . Won't be using them

My sister has just let me know she is on her way home with her 3 dogs, and has just gone through border control in Calais for the Chunnel. It is now a drive through, all they needed to do was hand over the Pet Passports. Very efficient she says.
I forgot to add, the scanners were handed into the MH for them to scan the dogs, no fuss.
She is well and truly p!€€ed off about the money it cost for the 3 AHCs that weren’t needed.

I'm sure she is . Big expense for no reason .
I do understand people doing exactly the same as your sister but I couldn't .

I think the Tunnel has been a bit iffy with their advice after the change in April in contrast to BF. And they are still saying on their website an AHC is required and an EU PP issued prior to April change is no longer valid. I would have done the same if using the Tunnel, but we have only 1 dog.

Thanks Sharon ! Picked up AHC, this morning
Shock our normal fish and chip spot is now no motorhome parking and the area just along the road is now £2.70 per hour or £16.20 per day we normally spend over £100 stocking up on last minute bits and fish and chips , that won’t happen again we will do all that in Cambridge before leaving , the local town in Kent will be a ghost town just driving thru today the seafront was empty and the side streets full of cars parked freely

Ridiculous. Their website tells you to get an AHC .
Obviously you don't need one . They accept the EU passport

Perhaps its something to do with accepting their terms and conditions, at the time i ticked the terms and conditions last october for this trip, none of these different rules had come in,
Presently we are booked for August december and february, we will see what the future holds

This screenshot has just been posted by the Spanish rescue that our little Sticky came from.

Just noticed it's Brittany Ferries so apologies if it's old news.

We are booked to use the Chunnel on Wednesday afternoon - let battle commence.
Anecdotally, the tunnel are still accepting passports but haven't said so 'officially' on their website. Apparently some travellers have been warned that French vets won't sign off the worming in a PP for returning but I can't see any reason why they wouldn't, the validity of a PP to return to the UK has never been in question.

Have you taken a screenshot of the letter from the French authorities saying they accept that PPs issued before 22/4 remain valid (post #148)?

I have emailed 2 vets we use, one in France and the other in Belgium. Both have replied to tell me they will issue a rabies vaccination as previously to our EU pet passport, no change there. I will ask about if they would issue a new one to a non-EU resident person.

Not wasted ! now you know how to apply in the future when they change the rules again , or we get another face ache rumour

I’ve just been through Pet Passport control. I handed over Molly’s pet passport, and that was all that was needed. Quick in and out. There’s £99 wasted.

And you can use the AHC to come back, saving spaces in the passport.

I'm glad to hear you got through okay though.
