Emptying porta potti

I agree withe above comments, I am a member and get the mag every month but when I have stayed at the sites , I find them expensive for what you get sometimes you dont even get out of you van for more than a minite and find yourself relieved of £20 plus for parking overnight. Had a bad experience at Milaocky bay a couple of years ago when I had pre paid, so much so that I just left my Boat there for the week and came back every day to launch it as I had allready paid. We moved to another site and paid again to camp there.

Stick to the small cl and temp sites much cheaper and less formal.we only camp on main sites when there is a DA temp site on them so its about half price. Even then when we camped at Sandringham they closed the toilets close to us. I wrote and told them that it was not very friendly of the friendly club the close the showers next to their own members but just got some rubbish about not many units in that part of site. Later found out they do it to that DA every year.

no certs needed to open a drain cover..only need one if you are going into a confined space or going onto a locked and secure site..I know this as brother works for anglian water(my local water board).
Only thing you do need to be 100% certain is the drain cover has been replaced properly and that no one is going to fall down it while the cover is off it.

Why dont you phone up your water board and ask if you can lift up man hole lid and dump your porta pottie would love to know what they say

hi, i think they might say dont do it. there is such things as a duty of care and controlled waste transfer notes . also charges to be made to commercial companies dumping in official sites. but i would be suprised if they ever took an individual to court for emptying a porta potty. i think it could be possible though. as a waste operator i understand the problems sewage works get with the use of chemicals in the waste. we could not take waste with chemicals to a sewage depot . they were i fact taken to a private run laggoon and disposed of there. these were emptied after a few years and a strict control on the land on wiich it was tipped.due to my experiances weorking in the sewage sector thats why i will always say dont use even the green liquid. let nature take its own course. keep the cassette inside always with a bit of waste in ,never wash it out .bacteria will soon start the process working . have fun . life,s too short to ring the water board . cheers alan.
