The Americans were once at the forefront of Aircon systems"BTUs" always amuses me. The americans seem to love quoting BRITISH Thermal Units, but in Britain, everything is quoted in kW.
We've been buying refrigeration pipe in this country for ever in 3m/6m lengths or 15m/30m coils ...
With diameters of 1/4-3/8-1/2-5/8
1" and 1/8th etc etc
Insulation comes in 30m coils and 9mm/13mm wall etc etc ...
For a long time the only manufacturers of refrigeration tools were American origin ..
Only more recently have the japanese/PRC/Korean manufacturers jumped on board ...
With both tools and equipment ...
And to be fair they are pretty good at it ...and new inverter driven compressors fantastically efficient ...
