You know its not allowed inside by law unless electric trike or 4 wheel for invalidity use.Can anyone recommend a lightweight solution to load a scooter in a garage. I know Fiamma do one but I'd prefer recommendations from satisfied users including tie down securing equipment. Any pointers please?
Do we have a link to the law about this or has it been to court and a judgement passed . I don't see what changes between inside and outside as far as carrying is concerned. Same item same weight. You know its not allowed inside by law unless electric trike or 4 wheel for invalidity use.
you can have it at rear outside.
I seem to think classed as a living van and not a motorhome heard what trev says mentioned with race vansDo we have a link to the law about this or has it been to court and a judgement passed . Race Van's and such I can understand to a certain degree as there can be payments involved. Such as prize money, etc This has been doing the rounds for at least 40years when we were using converted coaches to transport F1 stockcars to meetings up and down the country.I seem to think classed as a living van and not a motorhome heard what trev says mentioned with race vans
Yes it has been to court and a secure conviction, the new forces which do rd side vh checks along with police will ask to open garage, remember you will invaladate your insurance also, and will either have to ditch the bike at the road side as cannot drive on with it in there, this was well aired many mths back and all should be aware of this by now.Do we have a link to the law about this or has it been to court and a judgement passed . Im going on fact and english law, mine is camper/bus in log book and i only gave whats been done and dusted in england.Trev, I think any decent lawyer would keep this out of court. Just start reading the government documents relating to this and the overlaps. Taken to the letter if you have a PHGV (plus 3.5 tonne) you can't have a sandwich box it the cab. Yet others will tell you as long as the goods are yours and not for sale it's ok.
The body type eg. Motorhome does not define what it is used for. I think if a vehicle was converted for the sole purpose of carrying bikes or a car for competition it would be another story if you claimed it was a motorhome.
When your allowed out and about again go to a goods vehicle testing station and ask the to test a Motorhome as a Goods Vehicle. If you can get it, it's an easier test.
So lets say your solicitor can't show the rules to be a mess and contradicting each other, maybe facing a manslaughter charge would be next
As our motoring laws should be harmonised with the EU the vehicles class should be M1 or M2 specialist vehicle (motorhome) (they are not goods vehicles)

A2.4 Living Vans A `living van' is "a vehicle, whether mechanically propelled or not, which is used for living accommodation by one or more persons and which is also used for the carriage of goods or burden which are not needed by such one or more persons for the purpose of their residence in the vehicle". Living vans are classed as goods vehicles and, depending on their weight, are therefore in either class 4 or 7 within the MOT Service or are subject to HGV plating and testing.
