Just doing the car insurance, option to put driver number in, and my licence ran out 1/6/26. I thought they sent reminders; I can't drive or renew insurance now.
Yes they are on to you.Not half, I may try later, this crap didn't bother me OUAT, but not nowadays, too much security crap due to scrotes & scammers.
I find most things like this are best done on a proper computer with a proper browser, keyboard etc and and proper navigation tools on the browser screen.
Apps on a phone are so limited by comparison and I reserve their use for when I am away from home and don't want to carry a laptop with me.
I couldn't find my licence last week so I had to get a new one.I just tried doing it online, what a farce, I got so wound up I've given up for the day, if you make a mistake, there is no way to get back to before the mistake, I was taking the picture as required of my passport, but it didn't clarify which photo page, and there are two, I thought my phone might be acting up so I restarted it now I can't get back in, I'm fairly decent with IT, but the app is terrible.
Why would I need a chip reader on my laptop to do something on line? There are established ways to pay for things on a web page with a credit card, that often involve using a phone to receive a verification code for example.Ok if you have a chip reader.
The app is used as "they" think it's easier to get the picture of the passport etc to them, and it would be if their instructions were designed to be useful.I find most things like this are best done on a proper computer with a proper browser, keyboard etc and and proper navigation tools on the browser screen.

I keep a scanned picture of both sides of my driving licence and my passport on my pc ready to upload when required. There is usually an option to upload a picture rather than take a photograph again. The app is used as "they" think it's easier to get the picture of the passport etc to them, and it would be if their instructions were designed to be useful.
And if I understand it right, now the renewal is in, you should be allowed to drive, and renew your insurance.
