Mines a 2Kw Sterling pure sine wave, runs telly, sky box, microwave, hair dryer, hair straighteners, laptop, tablet, phones ect. I use while driving or parked, seems to work fine.
 
I have a 1200 watt modified inverter, works mint TV, sat box, game console, laptop, 4 phone chargers, 700 watt microwave 700 watt toaster, microwave and toaster tesco cheapie, microwave none digital timer, but have always had van on tick over when using 700 watts+ going to test with van off to see if any difference
 
Don't use it often but I need it it's great to have on board. 2000w modified and never had any issues running anything with it.

I`m curious, can you tell me what a mint TV is,
 
I've got a 500W modified sine wave one fitted, but can't vote as 500W isn't an option for either type!
 
I have a 1000w pure sine wave which charges my bike battery, laptop, and phone. Works a treat and also gives me digital read out of battery voltage.

I could buy the Canon car charger but at £108 I decided to use an inverter that I already had, hopefully it will work on any future chargers that I may purchase as I change my cameras, it also allows me to have only one soldering iron - helps keep costs down

Considering that we all wild and power of some description can be an issue, im surprised that 1/3 of use don't have one. Power to the people.
 
We've got a 300w pure sine wave as I was told my toothbrush will be nuked if I got a modified one. We also use it to get freesat through our humax box. I'm looking for a 12v one but cannot get one in france and don't want to pay huge postage costs.
 
Ooh er, I don't think I have one..... but then I don't have a : toaster, microwave, hairdryer, tv, electric radio, laptop etc.
Someone once asked me what on earth did I do when I went away, well really. .......I was not going to tell him.

i have just finished converting a t5 what would you recommend is best unit to get. i have 12v sock in has area running from leisure battery, and obviously the van engine battery

I've just bought a charger with mains or cigar lighter connection and 2 spare batteries for my new Nikon for less than £18 on Amazon.
With the solar panel, I also charge a mobility scooter, 12 volt to 24 volt with a charger from Amazon for about 30 quid.
 
Modified Sine Wave 1000 watt

I have had this inverter for 6 years moved between 4 vans. It is currently fitted to our latest a Rapido Van 66 2015. It is invaluable. We bought it first so that my wife could use her 240 volt hairdryer. We then added a 240 volt tv which is much cheaper than a 12v alternative. We have also added a microwave in the past, but removed this because it tanned the battery and used up too much space. Over the years we have added two 120 amh batteries and a solar panel into the equation making us totally self-sufficient. We very rarely use campsites and have travelled all over Europe with this combination over the last six years.
