Not workning at all this weekend everytime i sign in and try to make a booking or amend a bookinh it asks me to sign in even thou my avatar is showing at top of page,
Website is working ok

Google AI:

"If the Direct Ferries app isn't working, it could be due to several reasons like temporary server issues, problems with your internet connection, outdated app version, login issues, or a potential bug within the app itself; try refreshing the app, checking your internet connection, updating the app to the latest version, and logging out/back in to your account; if the issue persists, contact Direct Ferries customer support for further assistance."

Not much help I'm afraid! 🤷‍♀️

Can't find any other info which might be more specific?

I avoid those shysters at Direct Ferries like the plague.Lost my return fares to ROI when covid struck in 2020. We weren't allowed to travel but they got out of it by saying that the ferry was still running. It was, but only freight. The ferry company was issuing refunds but could not refund me as they said Direct Ferries were holding my funds. The company had no phone number and I lost count of the silly made up names attached to all the email correspondence I had with them.I don't think anything was handled by a human, just bots.

I can’t really understand why people book through third parties. I may use them to easily see the various ferry route options but will always book direct with the ferry company themselves. Same with hotel bookings and often saves a few pence booking direct with the hotel. Maybe a bit cheeky using the third parties just to help my research but so what!

Couldn't agree more.

Avoid like the plague!

I had cause to book a ferry crossing with Fjord Line recently. It was conducted entirely by email, including a secure link provided for credit card payment, and could not have beeen more straightforward.

Why introduce the inevitable complications by dealing through a third party? It's not as if you save any money.

Did you pay by credit card? If so you should still be able to get your money back.

I book direct with the Ferry Company, download the Booking via Downloads to my laptop and phone respectively and save the download as Documents on each machine. And then I upload the Bookings to Google Drive via named Folders (DFDS, Brittany Ferries etc). Then I save the bookings to a 2TB SSD Drive as an extra precaution ...

OTT? Yes, but in 2022 I was more slapdash about backing files up, and lost the onscreen keyboard when Android had a hissy fit. Lost all my photos (well, they're locked in the phone, and the only recovery option I'm aware of will wipe the phone of all data, so I am well and truly gubbed ...)

No, I don't think I did. I can't remember now,but I've used charge back before on my card. Possibly I ran out of time. There was quite a saving on the booking by using Direct Ferries, but obviously I did not benefit in this case.

Mines all sorted now, very nice lady on the phone talked me thru the app loading and signing in again , apparently it was something to do with using the app in greece, which is why the website worked perfectly but app wouldnt load👍👍👍

You have up to 6 years if you pay by credit card...

They have a phone now?

They dont have a phone number , but if you have a problem in the help section after all things are exhausted you can ask the bot to ring you and then you wait for a person , mine took anout four hours but it was sunday evening

Don't forget you can use an external Bluetooth keyboard.
Tried it and it failed. I have tried all the internet suggested solutions I can find, visited phone repair shops, and the answer is, 'can reboot phone but all data will be lost'. Some Forensic software will be able to recover the lost photos, but at a prohibitive cost; that money can go towards a repeat of the trip and retaking the lost photos ...

I thought that the default on Android devices was for photos to be uploaded to Google Photos, which you can then access from another device. Was that not enabled?

Unfortunately not ... I was using a 3rd Party Photo Editor at the time to avoid Google knowing when I breathe in and then out. I still prefer a non-Google solution but its unrelenting consumption of its serious competition makes this more difficult each month
