Councils ???????

I know were the money came from to pay for this stupidity.
From the fines they dished out to Motorhome owners for daring to park overnight in otherwise empty carparks.
You have read of a project to cater for day trippers that will do nothing for local businesses other than for them to sell less food to these day trippers.
Now read how Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole (BCP) view us.

Well it seems fair enough, the money has too come from somewhere. ;)

Is this where motorhomers are going wrong visiting places and leaving them clean ?
As councils seem quite happy to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds to attract dirty day trippers in cars to visit and leave their rubbish behind.
But yet if you visit with a motorhome and leave the place as clean if not cleaner than when you arrive, and spend your money locally, but because you dare visit in a motorhome then we are fined or stopped from visiting because of height barriers.
Maybe they would have been more welcoming towards us if we left our rubbish behind and did wheel spins when leaving.

How many times have we been told that we contribute nothing to local economies which is sheer garbage. We have posters on here saying why should they do anything to welcome us when we contribute little towards local economies. Well this is only a microcosm of what is going on around the U.K. Not only do car driving day trippers regularly contribute little or nothing to these local economies, they are catered for with such things as parking spaces, toilets, fresh water, and now barbecues for them to abuse at OUR expense. We don’t need anything apart from somewhere to park, and we have far more respect for these places than those who cannot be bothered to take their crap home with them, or even put it into the bins provided for them.

This article is over a year old and was written during lockdown when everyone had to sleep at home.

You can't complain about folk saying "we contribute little" then shortly after say. "We don’t need anything apart from somewhere to park." That is "contributing nothing".

Once parked we can then go into the town centre and spend as we see fit.
I was referring to the fact that we don’t need the other things such as toilet facilities that the day trippers require.

point taken Debroos I missed that.
But possibly someone with local knowledge can update us on the state of affairs with the BCP area with regards to us parking overnight.

Why let the facts get in the way of a good persecuted rant 😂

The initial report seems like a non story to me, drummed up by the gutter press to feed angst and despair, which for some unfathomable reason sells newspapers.

3 of the barbecues were ‘shut’ for cleaning for a few days due to staff shortages. Then the local press get wind of it, searched out some people against it and boom, all hell breaks loose. They didn’t bother finding those who used and enjoyed them. Because people don’t want good news, they want misery, conspiracy and paranoia.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Motorhome’s or wild camping, and in itself is nothing more than the usual gutter press claptrap. It’s nothing to do with the Council not funding Aires or parking restrictions. It’s not even a problem.

As can the day trippers. I would imagine by what I have seen a family with kids will spend far more than your average MHer on a day out.

Are you a councilor by any chance. 🤣
