Cleaning the motorhome and the dreaded Roof!! (The easy way)

I bought a ladder and I'll be having a go, but just using snow foam a brush and hose pipe.

All assuming I can climb yhe bloody ladder or course if not ill have to pay someone, I know a bloke down Leicester way who is very reasonable ;)

Book me in with him for the end of March will yah? Is it still two bottles of Tramp cider?

Ok I know its been done to death and I can easily google ideas or search the forum but what I need to know is the easiest way to go about it all. My Arthritis mainly in my knees but also the facet joints in my back I need to be mindful off.

I am not sure if you can walk or crawl about on the roof of our new to us van like the old one. Probably but it has no rear ladder either so I reckon its a case of assuming neither of us can go up there. All I have so far is a step ladder.

On the old van I tried patio magic on the roof which is like wet and forget but it never budged anything. It wasnt a smooth surface like this one so maybe its one possibility to try but I am just looking for ideas for the easiest way and quickest way to clean the entire van and the roof without hopefully going on the roof. It doesn't have to be showroom clean just clean.

I wont be doing it for a while yet but just getting ideas for the best way and what materials, brushes, cleaners etc I would need.
I use a telescopic ladder with foam lagging so it doesnt mark the van,an extendable cleaning brush and blue magic. also worx has a pressure washer to rinse off.Its a slow job but one i do in the summer so the sun dries it off. And steps inside the van and go through the open roof light.

I haven't got much roof to clean! Mind you, I do give the panels a quick wipe with soapy water and then hose it off every now and then.

Jenny chem caravan and motorhome cleaner ....

Sprayed on in a snowfoam format ...

Then go have a brew ...

Agitate with soft extendable brush ...

Then pressure wash off .
Works a treat AND slows down the formation on new green slime
I used this earlier this year ,together with Bobby dazzler. The grime etc came off easier. The finished job was brilliant.I have noticed a few spots of green around the edges recently. but easy to keep on top of.

I'd have had a go at mine when it was more warmer, but the hose pipe ban and not knowing I was permitted to use a hosepipe with a BB stopped me.

Jennychem is definitely the best AND least effort I've found over the years...
It really saves on scrubbing and hard graft.

Picked a librarian type ladder up on the local for sale face ache site for a tenner the other week. I had been looking for a while mind but wasn't willing to pay 150/ 200 for one.

I never updated the thread from last year but the Jennychem I thought was rubbish. Left a right mess and wasn't that great.

Has anyone tried the Wet and forget stuff on the roof? I tried Patio magic on the old van but nothing would shift the crud off that thing mainly I think because of its dimpled surface. This one is smooth and I think aluminium.
Yup. Used wet and forget for many years. The 5l bottle is now only a bit over half full.

It's wonderful stuff, but takes a week or two to properly take effect. Lasts six months or so.

I have no idea how similar it is to patio magic, though.

After 6 months of hosepipe ban not going to be fun
