Cleaning the motorhome and the dreaded Roof!! (The easy way)

No I don't not have 2 scaffold towers in the garage, But theres 8 in my mates yard.

Now you mention it I wonder if I know any local builders that might have some. Will have a think about it. Probably not many that would have it erected that you can just turf up and start cleaning your massive motorhome.

sorry Terry i still wouldnt use one on my van .
I've been pressure washing the van when required for over nine year Jeff with no issues, our cars too. When I am on the roof, I stand on an area where I SikoFlex on a durbar plate alloy panel to create a standing area where I remove my usual footwear and don wetsuit boots with rubber souls.

MH sits facing north, currently with a fare covering of green gunk, due to facing north, I shudder to think how much longer MH cleaning would take without using the pressure washer, the secret is, have the wand close enough to remove the muck and gunk.

(y)

I have in the past cleaned the roofs, but I use a long step ladder to get up there and put two carpet tiles up there to stand on and move around, a pressure washer is safe to use so long as you back off, get to close and you can ruin mastic sales and do other damage.

Has anyone tried the Wet and forget stuff on the roof? I tried Patio magic on the old van but nothing would shift the crud off that thing mainly I think because of its dimpled surface. This one is smooth and I think aluminium.

I have only used car wash stuff from Costco Barry. Your van will be all alloy panels, easy test if to use a small magnet.

I tried sticking a magnet to the back of it the other week. Didnt stick.

Apparently its "SMART construction with strong, moisture proof ‘PURe’ Polyurethane timberless framed body shell" so maybe not metal at all then. Dunno. Looks and feels like metal to me.

I was going to mention the possibility of grp construction, which it appears to be, I don't know best cleaner for this type of cleaner?

Ok I know its been done to death and I can easily google ideas or search the forum but what I need to know is the easiest way to go about it all. My Arthritis mainly in my knees but also the facet joints in my back I need to be mindful off.

I am not sure if you can walk or crawl about on the roof of our new to us van like the old one. Probably but it has no rear ladder either so I reckon its a case of assuming neither of us can go up there. All I have so far is a step ladder.

On the old van I tried patio magic on the roof which is like wet and forget but it never budged anything. It wasnt a smooth surface like this one so maybe its one possibility to try but I am just looking for ideas for the easiest way and quickest way to clean the entire van and the roof without hopefully going on the roof. It doesn't have to be showroom clean just clean.

I wont be doing it for a while yet but just getting ideas for the best way and what materials, brushes, cleaners etc I would need.

Always make sure you start a moho trip with a fresh, clean beaver, Barry... 😉🤭
