One of the penalties of living in a beautiful but relatively remote part of the world is frequent(ish) power cuts! Having suffered yet another which lasted just long enough to melt all our domestic freezer contents I'm toying with the idea of buying a smallish generator to power small household items like the freezers, broadband modem, and possibly the low wattage kettle filched from our motorhome. We are lucky enough to have several wood burning stoves in the house so no heating problems during power cuts. Although not keen on motorhome generators it could also be used very occasionally for the motorhome when we take it remote wild camping for extended periods.
I've been looking at 2kw inverter generators such as Honda, Hyundai etc but value for money seems to point to a Champion 72001i (only slightly noisier than Honda but significantly cheaper). Has anybody any experience with Champion gennies and are they any good?
Thanks
Tony
