I think I have found a decent portable power station that will do what I want and it's currently on sale.

Problem is that the space where it would need to be stored in the camper has a height restriction and this power bank is 47mm, or 1.85in, too tall. 😝
However, It would fit fine if laid on its side!🤞👍

So my question is are you able you safely store/transport lithium power banks on their side?
It would always be taken out of storage and/or placed upright when in use for charging etc... 🤷‍♀️

Not sure which power station you're going for Marie but i can happily recommend a storage case from AliExpress (y)

I have the EcoFlow Delta 3 1500, it fits it like a glove and and is very well padded, it also has an extra storage pouch on top and separate opening vents on both sides for the fans inlet and outlet and the ends for the screen info / power buttons and the plug sockets / charging sockets.

Gone up a bit but only £31.69 verses £69.00 for the genuine one with less storage pockets.

Is it a secret or can you tell us model you are looking at , I fit my bluetti in underbed locker secured with small rachet strap

I never got around to doing it Ginge, but I removing the cooker (never used anyway) putting a power station in its place with an induction hob on top seems a good way forward.

Good idea, but happy to leave this van's set up as is, Boris.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it is my main motto. 😁

Technically speaking all of the individual component parts are perfectly happy in any orientation for storage but the question is has the unit been made strong/well enough to withstand the bumping and shaking it's going to get whilst being stored on its side and driven around? The cells in particular are very heavy and whatever is supporting them almost certainly hasn't been designed to work with them laying in a different orientation, drive over a massive bump and it could possibly break.
You may be fine but I guess if you asked you'd be told upright only Marie☹️.

Here is your answer
BLUETTI AC180P Storage & Maintenance Guide
To keep your AC180P in optimal condition when not in regular use, follow these guidelines:
  • Orientation: Always store and operate the unit in an upright, forward-facing position. Storing it upside down or on its side can lead to the loosening of internal structures and may obstruct ventilation. [1, 2]
  • Battery Level (SoC): If storing the unit for more than 3 months, charge the battery to between 40% and 60% capacity. Storing the battery at 0% or at 100% for long durations can permanently degrade the battery cells. [1, 2, 3]
  • Temperature: Keep it in a cool, dry place. The recommended storage temperature range is between -20°C and 40°C (-4°F and 104°F), with 30°C (86°F) being the ideal sweet spot for extended storage periods. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Good old Google 😃
