Just bought a German motorhome, and, in common with many continental homes, it has only a small gas burner and no oven. I do enjoy cooking when I'm away so I'm looking for an efficient, reliable oven/grill or microwave that is relatively light and has a small footprint. It can live in the garage so freestanding. Any suggestions or recommendations from your experience?

I have a cartridge oven from go out doors, works well and gas canisters can be bought anywhere, I have it fixed to the worktop.

Saved this thread in case I need to fit a small oven in any new van.

Ridge monkey and dutch oven do for us.
Remoska if you use ehu or big battery bank (but not us)
Halogen ovens too big and too much clutter (again not for us).
Ps I too enjoy cooking and adapt.
My 1 concession to clutter is a cadac bbq which we use sometimes and grill vegetables as wel as....

As Jagmanx suggests. All good. But……

Air fryer?

Best to ignore the fryer bit. It’s a very efficient fan oven. Great If you can power it. If you can’t. Why not? 🤬😬

for occasional use why bother cooking. we only stay out overnight in warm weather. dont plan on cooking . either salad and stuff that dont need warming or pub grub. we keep it simple . we do carry a 2 ring gas hob but mostly used to boil kettle and eggs for breakfast.

I always cook a ruby for first night away. On the portable stove, in the Woc outside so no splashing about or smells in the van. All ingredients prepped at home. (y)

By ruby, do you mean a curry of some description?
This thread is about, ovens. Not hob top cooking. That is , baking , roasting and the like.
I’m not having a pop at you. Your culinary expertise might be almost on a par with mine. But even I know the difference between baking and stewing 😬🫣

That's why I mentioned the halogen above. We use one in the van on hookup. It is also the most used item in the home kitchen. Works as a grill also as I love my cheese on toast. (y) Each to his own.

This winter while in Spain we met a Belgium women who was very friendly a spoke very good English. I asked how they cooked without an oven, out came a Remoska for when on EHU and an Omnia, in addition to a gas BBQ. Using the Omnia she could cook a Calzone pizza, cake, bread and much more.

The Omnia looks expensive but I guess far cheaper than an oven install.
