A rented German MH took out my(and his) wing mirror outside callander a while back.
Got a replacement from wingmirrorman in Bury.
They seem to have a lot of stock.
You could try them, I got a good price for mine!

Agreed, wingmirrorman is the place to use, very good prices,a couple of friends have used him and been satisfied.
Wing Mirror | Wing Mirror Replacement | Wing Mirror Man

After our recent european trip I was surprised at the amount of damaged and taped up motorhome wing mirrors coming back on the ferry. It is a good idea to carry a stick on replacement wing mirror glass just in case you meet white van man on a narrow road,it will suffice until a replacement can be sourced,it's not easy driving with only one wing mirror especially when you don't have see through vision.

The long arms inside the rubber cover will separate from the mirror itself.

So long as they are not damaged buy any suitable replacement drivers side one and swap the arms.

I lost mine on the first outing due to a young lad driving a tractor and trailer on the Tore Roundabout and the Fiat dealer in Inverness did exactly that.

It seems that my mirror is a Vitaloni and is very expensive,I have found a left nearside one on line and it is £350 crazy, why would a motorhome have something like that fitted? it looks like I may need to get a pair of Fiat mirrors and change both as they are about £90 each,Vitaloni mirrors are common on Porche,I need to take the mirror off the van tomorrow and check out the fittings and cables and see what can be done, the complete thing needs changing as the plastic housing is broken and also the monkey metal interior parts are busted too.

Ouch! on the Vitaloni price!
Sounds a good idea to try and use Fiat mirrors.
You will have to check though that the fixing holes are in the correct place on the door or make new ones.
Good luck and hope you manage ok!

My mirror does not have the usual two arms but an alluminium Block?covered with an expanding rubber cover and the rubber is moulded to fit the mirror housing so it is not that simple to adapt to another mirror, but I will investigate further later.

The dealer took the whole assembly off the door because it was easier to do the work on the bench.

He then separated the mirror assembly from the short arms on the new mirror and attached it to the long arms that are on my van.

I still have the short arms in a box in my garage.

Ok if I can source the short arm type you show I can do that,I have only been looking at the double long arm types, not seeing the wood for the trees as they say, many thanks.

My mind must be knackered :rolleyes2: i`ve just been back outside and had a good grope and it feels like mine has a solid block in it as well.

There are 2 X 10mm bolts, ( 1 top and 1 bottom ) that hold the long arm to the mirror assembly and that is what he attached the new one to.

So long as the end of the arm assembly has not been damaged a new Fiat mirror will fit.

OK ,no damage to the long arm just the plastic housing ,mirror and guts of the thing so your way looks good as the rubber cover is the same as yours and needs the channel round the mirror housing to fit into, so is yours Vitaloni too? written at the base of the mirror housing exterior, the arm is not exactly solid but moulded and drilled to take the cables.

Yes, just had a look and mine are Vitaloni as well.

You can probably do the job without removing the whole assembly from the door frame it`s just the guy at Fiat said it was easier to do on the bench.

We had our dinner in the van parked on the Fiat dealers car park whilst he did the job, 30-45 minutes.

If memory serves me right there are special washers and springs under the bolts, make a note of what order they are in.

That's b****y expensive !

Just had a look on the wingmirrorman site for a right side, heated, electric wing mirror for an 04 Ducato JTD and get this........

Fiat Ducato 1998-2006 Wing Mirror Matt Black (Right Side)

Still not cheap but a lot less than you've been quoted, assuming it's the correct wing mirror.

well did see this and his are the long reach type so no point in looking at scrapppys to replace them unless you find a specialist motorhome breaker then they know what they worth mine came from a standard van so didnt need the long reach ones
unless you take the broken mirror and see how it comes apart and the get a standard mirror and bolting on to the ext

I seem to think I have a complete front end for an 04 plate including doors will check when I go out !!
