Here is my AA quote what do you guys pay and who are you with it does seem expensive or is it on a par with the rest.

I get mine included with my insurance Annie.

That does seem expensive to me.

(I think it added about £70 to my policy)

Check out on their website what the cover would cost as a new member, then haggle down to that price or say you'll leave. Unfortunately loyalty cost the costumers these days.

I am with comfort and my whole policy including full European brakedown isn’t much more than what you have been quoted just for breakdown.
You could open a nationwide flex plus account at £12 per month that gives full European breakdown cover including motorhomes, pus covers mobile phones and other stuff,

Your getting ripped off Annie, they do it with me every year. You have to get on the phone and tell you want to cancel as its to expensive, they will then have a word with the boss{laugh}and come back with a lower price,Now call their bluff and tell its still to much and the price will go even lower, works every time.

I should add as well Annie, when I took out the cover, I didn't really need breakdown cover as well!

I had overlooked the fact that my Visa Debit card also covers me for UK and European recovery for any vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes. Might be worth checking if you are similarly covered elsewhere.

The Nationwide cover is great. It comes free with an account that costs £13 per month, but that gives excellent interest on up to £2500 so its net cost is about £80 per year.
We have used the recovery service (in the UK) and it was excellent.

Second that plus there is other cover included in th Flexplus account, the breakdown cover also covers your car. Worth a look if you have a few quid you can transfer from a basic bank deposit account which generally give almost nothing in interest.

hi

Have you used it .and how often.
There are cheaper ways like above . Im Lloyds with and aa fully included, dont think the wife is included.
But this is the season it's needed.

That's very true, there's no benefits for remaining loyal to the same insurance company as I have found from personal experience,it's always a good idea to get several quotes from different companies about a month before renewal time.

That sounds great but do they cover PHGVs?I had free breakdown/recovery with one of my Barclays accounts but they wouldn't cover anything above 3500kg MGVW.

ADAC without doubt.
100 euros 2 people any vehicle.
Had a spring break which ripped the side of the tyre out recently.(in the car)
AA man turned out and said '' this came through as a foreign job'' When I explained he asked me how much it cost. He said no UK supplier can get anywhere near that.
Had call outs in Germany and Italy in motorhome. Great service.

I am insured with Comfort (brokers)

The underwriters are Aviva

Extra £50 for Breakdown this includes Hungary and other Easter European countries (some companies exclude)

1 Claim was dealt with efficiently in 2015
Worth considering checkout the premium you might pay !

I used the AA once but their prices are too high

ADAC for us but never had to use it. I think last time it was €113 for the plus membership which covers the two of us and whatever vehicle we are in. I think they have or are intending to stop memberships from UK. You might get in under the wire and then be able to keep the membership going. Not heard of any horror stories about them but I'm sure some will exist.

Cheers

H

My insurance and breakdown is about that much with AIB (You get a discount if your a WC member) and I think it includes six months EU travel.

A new person joining the AA will get all of that for £139. Get on the phone and tell them you want to leave because it's too expensive.

I have to do it every year, and always get the new customer price.

ADAC We have 4 vehicles in the house and access to others. All covered

I've always avoided bank accounts with monthly fees since I had one long time ago which included travel insurance and other , basically , useless deals . I worked out I could save £70 by changing bank account and buying my own insurance . I'm assuming this Nationwide account basically gives you a net profit ?
I have accounts with BoS and TSB which both pay 3[?]% interest with no monthly charges .
