We are currently touring around Spain and It seems to me that nearly every aire or campsite that we visit has its obligatory barking dog either belonging to a neighbouring property or a fellow camper.
Currently we are in a lovely private aire tucked out of the way and yet again fecking dogs barking in stereo!!l.
Last year we when to visit friends at a property they bought (free parking and facilities on their drive) After driving 400km to visit them we left after one night due to dogs parking all night!
Please or offend I could for the price of a paper shoot the feckers!

Did they pay?

I spent the night in a lay-by in Germany some years ago in a Truck, there was a Dutch couple in a caravan with a kin great Germany Sheppard chained up, spent hours barking then the Police rocked up, banged the caravan door and woke the couple up, there was much raised voices and pointing at the dog till a Police van pulled in, they simply shot the dog there and then and put it in the van.

Still think they should have given the dog a bone and shot the Dutch Bloke.

A big box of Bob Martin's mixed wae a big juicy sausage can turn those barks to whimpers. 😉
30 or more years back we had a chap 2 doors up with a dog that shat always at our gateway, my g dad confronted him and ask please stop, man just grined and continued same every night, one night my old boy shoveled up the dirt knocked his door and when opened g dad turfed the she ite up his hall and said how do you like walking that into your carpet.
The man still did not get it, so laxatives were feed to dog one evening, a few days later dog was gone and soon after the chap moved away.

People annoy me more than pets. It got to me a bit on some of the busy Aires last year. I definitely prefer wilding in remote places or a tucked away off grid CL in a huge field.

I love this one in Cornwall. It has 360 degree and sea views and plenty of space. Only 5 vans max. I think it was about £8 a night last time we were there. If it was France, Spain or Italy there would be two hundred vans on there. :D Mind you we found some fabulous places in the Alps and Pyrenees last summer.

Where is that Barry, I can see it’s near Cornish Coasts campsites but that doesn’t look part of that site?

Its not really near anything. About 5 miles down the coast from Bude. Atlantic View CL. Its a bit of a bugger to get to. They don't even have any photos on the CMC site. :D Says its a tenner now! Rip off!

I know all the doggers .......... oops sorry, doggy lovers see things differently but not everyone wants to listen to your precious little poppet barking constantly.
I love dogs but I don't see it differently, it is annoying, my dog doesn't bark, unless there's a good reason for it.
My nice neighbours on one side were glad that he barked at 3.00am, someone was looking around their car and van outside.
My neighbours on the other side have two small dogs which were constantly yapping, we could hear the neighbour saying " aw, stop it, you know you're not supposed to do that", and similar stupid things as if the dogs understand English.
I ordered one of these from Amazon, 1000002034.jpg
It is rechargeable by USB, I placed it on the fence as close as possible to their garden, as soon as they ran out yapping it stopped them, and they ran back inside, this happened a few times and then they are a lot quieter, it doesn't hurt them so it isn't cruel.

I think dog ownership and control has got noticeable worse recently. Our holiday home in France has four dogs in the large house opposite. They can bark for hours on end, day and night. I will be the reason we will sell up! Whenever we confront them we're told they're guarding the house. We have And love dogs. The neighbours are quite simply inconsiderate feckers!

I think you are right. Covid caused a perfect storm of people with little knowledge of canine temperament and behaviour suddenly wanting dogs, combined with appalling breeding practices by people who have no idea that temperament is largely heredited. The two together leads to difficult dogs owned by clueless owners. What could possibly go wrong.
