The Black Horse has always been a pretty good watering hole, it’s had an excellent reputation for years.

You can almost spit on our house from there

Will definitely give that a try

We stopped just off M1 south of M62

at the Barley on way up to Kelpies from sommerset 200 mile arrived a 7.30pm Saturday night music in the garden nice beer befor it started raining. Jumped back in van.
Breakfast in morning £27 with coffees and 2Ts for the lady.

Free over night S4S bang on.

The Cripple Creek at Raglan (same one, honest) does the biggest pork chops I've ever seen, they fill the plate. Mind you, all their meals are large.

We've found a nice pub stopover on the way back from Dover after being with the Budding Bavarians. It's The Clock Warehouse, Shardlow, Derby.
By the Trent and Mersey canal

Just done a stop at the half moon inn at Ironbridge. Car park a bit of a slope, but massive, next to the river, peaceful, pay £15 get a voucher you can redeem against (delicious) food and drink. Really welcoming and friendly, ironbridge has so much you could easily spend a few days here.

Jeff, we had a walk along the canal and I had a nice pint of Pedigree in the Malt Shovel, Lovely area, and just off the M1 motorway, we will be returning.
