Benidorm or bust.

Stopped at a good aire last night near Zaragoza football stadium with drum bands playing into the evening.
Is that the University Aire, with Pitch on one side and Tram track on the other? It's the one we use, about 200m down from Carrefour

Left Benidorm this morning which had hurricane winds, trees down, bars and cafe fronts destroyed, loads of damage on Camping Raco. Tree down in front of camping La Torreta no one could get on or off the site. The winds finally stopped when we arrived this evening on an aire in Zaragossa.
Its been the coldest and wettest weve ever known in 20 odd years.
We have decided at the age of 76 that we will not travel abroad again.
Never say never.Enjoy the journey back.At 79 here I'll be 80 just after we set off hopefully march/april.Just need to work our plan around Jabs, cameras and chemo.

Now 248 miles from Calais stopping again on a motorway aire, it's miserable weather pouring with rain and we're sick of eating expensive ham and cheese baguettes and rubbish coffee machines.

Find yourself a nice little French village with a quiet Aire and treat yourselves to some proper French food and wine for a couple of days. Don't rush back here, its not stopped raining. People are building Arks.

We tend to only do smaller trips in winter and would never go as far as Benidorm in winter, but in general, motorhoming in the UK seems less easy than it is in mainland Europe.

However, you do have a point about age. There comes a time when you feel too old to go to all the bother.

The trouble with that approach is that unless you are making new memories, doing new things, you are just letting your few remaining years slip away.

At 76 the average person probably has ten to twenty years left. For goodness sake, don't waste it by vegetating in front of a TV.

We're down in Torrevieja, had a lovely lunch out and a nice stroll back... now its datsun cogs! 🌧
But on the bright side, However they had deep snow in Granada region... 🤷🏻‍♂️😳

Just had enough and got on an early ferry in Calais due to leave anytime now should get home by midnight.

Shame. When you have had enough there is no point in dragging it out I guess. Trips don't always work out. I enjoyed your earlier photos and write ups though. Looked like you were having a cracking time at one point.

Soon be spring and bike time again! Still formulating this years adventure but January has been crap.

We're ok - We're in STV region ... :ROFLMAO: Actually still in Moncofa, where it's a wee bit breezy, but dry (other than the odd 1-2 minute half-hearted spots of rain that blow away very quickly). Had planned to resume touring, but Moncofa for the foreseeable, unless we squeeze in a quick return to Tortosa or Vilafranca del Penedes en route to the 25th Feb Santander Ferry ...
