I am at the Ayr motor home parking at the south end.the toilet emptying point and tap are not working.boy/girl racers are up and down 30 plus vehicles.i have paid the £10 overnight charge on the pay by phone app with the assistance of the wardens who came round.it would not except motorhome on the app and had to put car as my vehicle.i won't be coming here again as screeching car tyres are either side of me

that’s some mark up we were there last year or could have been the year before was only a fiver then & people still camping up the other end , whether to avoid the boy racers or the £5 i don’t know but the boys all went home by 11 so not that much of a problem and a lovely park upm

No parking of motorhomes on Ayr Sea front from 6pm till 9 am signs everywhere.we have to go to the air at ether end of the seafront a nd pay £10 or move elsewhere.there is a car park on the POI but only suitable for small vans.we found gurvon free park and largs mariner free better locations.

The Ayr one because of the location is going to always have problems. I used to drive from Paisley to Ayr 40 miles in my youth to drag race up and down that front until the early hours looking back it was stupid but hey my balls hadn’t dropped😜. I think Ayr council should move it but then you won’t have the views.

We were there on Saturday night and agree the noise was a nightmare. It went on till 1am by this time they seemed to be parked up at the far end pipping their horns. Surely the locals on the next road back get peed off with it. At one point earlier on we had a car parked at the side of us in the Motorhome bays with there engine running for about 50minutes. There was also 2 cars racing each other down the road (obviously one was on the wrong side) how they don’t cause an accident with their actions Is beyond me.While I’m on my soapbox I think the £10 charge is a bit steep when the chemical emptying point is closed. It also took me about 3 hours before I could get the payment app working.

Yer a bit auld fur that noo Wully.

Just wished I had my old V6 Ford capri. 0 to hedge in 6 seconds rapped that car 3 times went round corners like a steam roller. Then I got a 28 Granada while all my mates were still messing with escorts thought I was the sweeny same colour car too.
Wully Regan of the Sweeny [and Lochore Meadows!] ... 'Listen, sunshine, I know you done it ...' :ROFLMAO:

We think we have a hard time finding places to park up for the night? What about the young folks with their pastime/ cars? I know what they do can be unsociable but if they had some where to park up and enjoy their cars like we have for enjoying our motorhomes would that be ok?

I recall the:

"The playing of ball games prohibited"

signs all over the green grass spaces when I grew up.

Moaning, groaning residents & jobsworths from the Councils, men with council garages who complained about their rear garage wall being used for a game ofecome rebound so children were moved along with nowhere else to play.
I was one of those children, so blame the Councils & Authorities, footballs become cars, so provide a meeting place for the modern youth instead of forcing them onto public roads & places because you cannot be bothered to find an alternative.

Kids are the future of the world..
..... SOME NEED TO REMEMBER THAT.

It's not for us to sort out a place for them and we shouldn't really have to put up with them disturbing the peace and intimidating people in the early hours of the morning.

These 'kids' are actually adults and antisocial behaviour like that is inexcusable. And before you say it, yes I was no angel at that age but I had to face the consequences of the law for bad behaviour and quite rightly so. So should they. The only difference is that in my day the Police acted on such offences and now they don't.

The local council describe them as " car enthusiasts". They were talking about shutting off the end of the aire next to the car park. If everyone writes to complain and suggests shutting off the entry from the car park something might happen.

So what do you suggest a racing track were they can drive about like idiots.
Theres a massive difference between children playing with a ball, and young ADULTS driving powerful cars like idiots without any concern for anyone else. Also kids don’t tend to play football into the early hours.
Each and every day people are killed on our roads, and a high percentage of those are young adults.
Yes kids are our future, but most of them don’t drive don’t drive about public roads as if they were racing tracks, and because they are our future does not excuse dangerous anti social behaviour.
Sadly I witnessed the result of such stupidity to many times, and even sadder some who had done nothing wrong other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time who paid the ultimate price.

Just out of curiousity...

What's with Scotland and racing cars ? We had them next to the Strathclyde campsite , but also in Thurso town center on a Saturday night while the pipe band was playing ... seems to be accepted behaviour. We have them in Belgium too, but they are illegal and considered unacceptable.

Been
Awful set up
Waste of time and charge 😠

I hardly wild camp in the UK these days apart from a few select spots. I would always avoid any urban tarmac car park though for exactly this reason. Usually the skidmarks give it away. £10 would probably get you a nice off Grid CL and peace and quiet anyway.
